Single taken from the upcoming album "Arson"
To be released on 16th of February, 2018
J.J. quotes:
"This song is like a retrospective on broken relationships and the void that stays when people leave. To me it's not the saying good-bye which is the greatest burden, it's the neverending silence, the rejection and the uncertainty. This song tributes the pain that's left when beloved people dissappear completely as if they'd have never crossed way."
Video directed, filmed & edited by Andreas J. Borsodi
Calligraphy and creative consulting by Albert Huspeka
Music & arrangements by M.S
Words & Vocals by J.J.
Session Drums by Kerim "Krimh" Lechner
Produced by M.S.
Recorded by M.S. and Daniel Fellner
Mixed and Mastered by Daniel Fellner
Lyrics:
Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness
It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift
It took me years to realize you teared my heart through fordable mires
But I wasn’t made for shallow waters, my heart is an ocean…
And I think that’s where I am right now: Floating, drifting away
Too weak to continue swimming, yet not weak enough to give up and sink
Leastwise I know now, that salty waters might cure everything
Shedding tears… …or to walk into the sea…
Did you know, if you hold your breath all too long
You will finally sleep forever?
Did you know, that I never forgave myself
For what we’ve become?
How odd I can have all of this inside me
And to you it’s just words, another letter???
But what is loss? What is wealth?
I am nothing! We are nothing…!
We are nothing…!
I am the mourning
You are the scars
I am the night
Color me black
I am the mourning
You are the scars
I am the night
Color me black
There’s a place in my heart that will never be filled
And even during the best and the greatest times
I will know it… …more than ever
I will know it… …more than ever
In another night, in another world
Things could have been so different
In another night, in another world
Things would have been so different
I am the mourning
You are the scars
I am the night
Color me black
I am the mourning
You are the scars
I am the night
Color me black

"Too weak to continue swimming, yet not weak enough to give up and sink." That line just kills me every time. When you don't have the energy anymore to keep swimming and look for all the "other fish", that people tell you swim out there in the ocean (no they don't, I looked for years), but you also aren't broken enough to drown yourself. Or maybe it's the futile hope, that someday a mermaid will swim your way. I met one once, got pulled down and drowned and she swam away. Come to think of it, don't wait for mermaids. Just drift in this endless ocean. You might be lonely and alone, but at least you are at peace. Thank you Harakiri, I don't feel as lonely with all these thoughts and feelings anymore.

Out of all your songs, and all your albums, these 10 minutes of pure catharsis sticks to me the most, especially in a world where I find little reason to exist for at times. But I will keep on going, because I want to push on and live for myself if nothing else even when the world is rough and unkind for the individual. We will scream, and cry, and rage at the worsts of things, and even when the pained memories toils on you, you are still alive, but it is ultimately up to us to decide to sink or swim in this cruel tide. I don't know how you guys do it. But if I could meet you or go to one of your concerts at some point, I want to thank you for screaming the words that many of us lost souls couldn't at our darkest hours. All I ask is please continue doing what you do Harakiri. Your talent is really making a difference, as small as it seems in this existence that you share with your audience, and I hope they will realize that out of the pain and suffering that you have articulated in your music that there is something to strive for.

This song hits close to home. A relationship of many years was ended before Thanksgiving. Now the literal silence, the burden of knowing they wished we never met cuts deep. This song is giving me the strength and comfort knowing my pain is felt by someone else. Ty for this beautiful piece.

There have been quite a few women in my live, who had an impact on me and everyone of them has one specific song I associate with them and the time we spend together. But for one I had no song, she was the women I loved and lost due to her depression. For her I had no song, because non could describe my feelings for her and what she did with my live. Now she has her song. I´m in tears. If you live with depressions, get help, There are people who care for you.
@thepunisher236169
@thepunisher236169 6 жыл бұрын
Not_always_the_nice_guy If you live with depression, know that things WILL turn around. I've been destroyed by these things this time last year, love and depression. After that, I died. I didn't care for anything, my humanity was voided. I was just strolling through life for a year with utmost indifference. I think that this process of dying is very important, you become resistant to all the bullshit around you, it adds an outer layer of protection to your being. I thought that I'd never love again, I only loved myself and cared only about myself. Now, I'm happily in love with that one female friend that's been there for me during those times. We haven't been exactly very close at that point, but now we are, very much so indeed. Not everyone is meant to be strong, not everyone is able to survive depression and severe pain that emotions might incur. It's the way of natural selection. The strong shall prevail, the weak will die. And to the strong, these troubles should not be considered as scars, but as valuable lessons for futute life, and it is the school of life that we must graduate in order to mentally and physically survive.

Saugeile Band, saugeile Scheibe, saugeile Nummer! Danke!

Do you know Woods of Ypres? They're less polished, more doom metal than black, especially on later albums. This song is at some level definitely inspired by David's music. I consider Harakiri (especially last two Harakiri albums) and Altars of Grief as spiritual successors of Woods. Check out song You Were the Light.

This music needs to replace pop and country on our airwaves. Does no body care about instruments and talent anymore. Don't answer I already know the answer, I am just saying why can't rock make a comeback. I want to hear this when I turn on the radio. I do have spotify and youtube but at work it would be nice to have the company truck that would have this come over the airways.

@@black_metal926 facts Metal isn’t my first choice of music nor is it my last either. I like all forms of guitar with the exception of modern country music. My mom is 72 and loves modern music I’m 35 I can’t stand the shit to be honest. I really love blues and jazz. Then née the would be psychedelic rock, followed by metal, classic rock and classic country. When I say classic country I mean the Earnest Tubb and Roy Acuff era of country. I like big band and some Hollywood singers such as Debbie Reynolds and Doris Day stuff. Anyways I don’t even know how or why I like this old shit I discovered it on my own and through classic movies and documentaries I learned a lot about music. I never even liked metal till just recently my tastes in music has matured. I am an advocate of learning different genres and exploring ideas. This probably more information than you were expecting from a KZbin post. Maybe I might influence someone to venture into the unknown as far as music is concerned.
