This is the closest I extrapolated of the lyrics: Hav megin mar leynit, i drøym om engja fjàll; Mikið skip mikið lið, ravn i segle langt å lei; Vêlt i så konungr leida, sny'n mar livi tak; Landa vêr Hjaltlandøyar, landa vêr Sulaskjêr, og Fridarøy. Skip i havn kveldar komin, við bjartunge skin; Og golv i hus eller laga, kvar og som gaman er; Vêlt i då Þórgrim Evjald, nord i hav viðum vegr; Mikla eyj kalla Þule, og so såg du allir ðat hevir senn. Sagdi då Valgeir Eyjra, ken ha vil suðri ha; Grønkledd eyj vêter heile, sol er høg i hìmmilì; Bù af da gull du maðr, bo alls stað iðri berg; Hevir allir silvri armband, sàt du då og allir menn i undring stor.

I noticed he mentions something about the Shetland Islands, but what does hìmmilì mean?

@@matthewhenriqueforgersen well since he says "sol er høg i", which means "sun is high in", im guessing hìmmilì means sky, because himillinn means the sky in icelandic. Although heimili means a home, but that doesnt really fit into the context.

@@ancientmusic123 can understand some of it and Sea (megin mar leynit), in a dream about (engja) mountain; A lot of ship, a lot of equipment, ravens sail far and (lei; velt) like so the king leads, (sny'n mar livi) roof(?) Land [the boat] at Shetland, Land at Sula archipelago, and Fridar island. Ship in the sea, the night sets, by (bjartunge) shine(?); And floor in house or barn, is left and like (gaman) is; (Vêlt) by then (Þórgrim Evjald)[name], north in sea (viðum) way/road; (Mikla) not call (Þule), and so you saw all that (hevir) then. Said was then when (Valgeir Eyjra)[name], can have will (suðri) have; Clothed in green not (vêter heile), sun is high in the sky; (Bù) of then gold you (maðr, bo alls stað iðri berg;) Everyone has silver bracelets, you and all the men sat in wonder grand.

I'm pretty sure this is what he's singing in the first verse, apart from the parts between brackets: Mighty sea [many secrets] in a dream about meadows and mountains Mighty ship, mighty army, a raven on the sail, far from home The king spoke such to his men: [quickly the sea takes a life] I know of lands: the Hjaltland Islands, I know of lands: the Cliffs of Gannets, and Fridar Island.

Second verse: Ship at harbour, evening has come, pregnant with the shine of the moon And (sleep on) the floor in house or barn, depending on what you prefer Then Þórgrim Evjald spoke: Travel far on the sea; - mighty I call the lands of Thule - then you would see what I have seen.

Third verse is the most difficult: Then Valgeir Eyra said: I know the southern seas well I know a good and green-dressed island, where the sun is high in the sky There lives a golden man, he lives in a city inside a mountain There, everybody wears silver armbands - it would baffle you and all men to see such things.

This reminds me a lot of another one of Legende's songs named 'Utan Fara' on the album 'I Vesterveg Og Austerled'. Both are absolutely top-tier.

"Due to the way he sings" - you mean his thick Norwegian accent? Still a good performance though. PS. No need to delete this, just my 2 cents.
