Zanzibar Market Hunt 🇹🇿

■ TANZANIA, ZANZIBAR: Stone Town was the first stop for a jet-lagged Heraldo after more than 3 flights and untold levels of insanity which anyone who wishes to travel these days have to contend with. As soon as I stepped off that last plane though I felt like I'd just arrived in heaven.
For in Tanzania life goes on as normal. So normal in fact that buffets are still up and running at the hotels and markets are bustling with life. Naturally then I had to go on a mega shopping spree to see what the local vendors have on offer here in Zanzibar. Traditional masks, paintings by local artists and the usual soccer jerseys dominated the shops.
Along the way I ran into some awesome people....

I don't think the paintings at that price were a scam at all, those designs might not be unique, and some might tend to be a little generic, but they are handmande and it takes a lot of effort to perfectly paint something that cool. I've seen people buying far more expensive fake art paintings and printed stuff on paper for thousands of dollars... These guys are real artists, they spend a lot of effort and time to paint everything perfectly with their own hands. The footbal shirt women do probably scammed him tho...

Haha, the postage will cost more than all of what you just bought! If you're still in Zanzibar I'd recommend the food market with the grills and swimming with dolphins. Also I'd be on your guard as there is definitely an underbelly on Zanzibar which is more existent there than on the Tanzanian mainland.
