I took a stranger shopping in Nepal 🇳🇵

■ NEPAL, KATHMANDU: After checking in to the world's greatest five dollar hotel room, my new friend from the reception wanted to take me to the market. Given the state of the hotel room, I could only imagine the state of the local market. So this was something I had to see with my own eyes.
My new friend didn't speak a word of English but he is one of the most jovial characters I've met in a while. He was therefore mighty excited when it finally sunk in that I wasn't shopping for myself at this bargain Nepalese market but for him....

Well Harald, for me this is one of your top vlogs. your closing words were just what i was thinking. I have been through similar experiences in Nepal over the last 37 years and stayed in similar rooms as your $5 room. Your $600 room in the resort in Dulikhel was very nice and your room service lady was really so sweet and the service and facilities there were amazing (Nepali hospitality is just the best) but your stay in the $5 room in Gaushala came with the added bonus of meeting and mixing with the ordinary Kathmandu locals in a way that I'm sure will remain as one of your travel highlights. Nepal is such a country of contrasts, when you think the price of the room in Dulikhel resort would have clothed that man's extended family for a year or more and probably fed his family for 6 months. Namaste bhai (I salute your divine qualities brother).
