Pulled into a road side rest area one evening close to the Texas/Mexico border in my 42' motorhome. A little later a pickup with 5 men pulled in front of me. I watched them get out and slowly walk my way. I decided to open the front curtain and turn my interior lights on so they could see me. I held my .45 high enough for them to see it and placed it on my dash. They returned to their pickup and left the area very quickly. There is no doubt in my mind they were up to no good. Set my alarm and went to bed, with the .45 and .12 ga close at hand. I enjoy your channel very much but I am an older man and I do things the old fashion way, just the way it is.

Your choice to not show video of crazy Cheryl was the right choice. I really dislike those videos that show people behaving badly and the harm that can come to people because of those videos. Harm to the person and harm to the poster of those videos. So I’m saying good for you for taking the high road. I have a new respect for you because of that. I spend a lot of time in that exact forest you were in and I’m sorry you had such a negative experience while there. If you ever decide to spend time there again contact me as I would love to show you some of the most beautiful places you have ever seen and a chance to meet you in person. I enjoy your videos and have been a subscriber of yours since your first few videos. In fact if you give me advance notice I will hook up my trailer and meet up with you and show you some great camping spots up there. Cheers

When I was in eight grade, my parents took me camping in Florida. I don't remember the campground name but it was about 25 miles south of Lakeland Florida. Since it was mid-November, we were the only campers in the entire campground. Every night, a couple racoons would raid our trash can and make a racket. On the third night about two hours after getting in our sleeping bags we were awoke by the racoons. My 50+ year old man decided he'd had enough and jumped out of his sleeping bag to teach them a lesson. He hollers to me to grab the flash light. Too bad we didn't have cell phones back then because I could have got a hilarious video of my old man in his boxer shorts and wife-beater t-shirt chasing the two racoons. After a couple minutes, the larger racoon had turned and was chasing my dad. I'll never forget that sight!

After listening to some of your stories, you two should protect yourself. Back in the 70's we were robbed at gunpoint while camping in a remote area in Mexico. three men walked into our campsite and pointed a gun at me from about ten back while was standing there in a wet suit. Nowadays, when someone comes near our RV I have my wife stay inside, armed with our 12 gauge pump shotgun, if I go outside I am always carrying a concealed pistol.

Calling her Crazy Cheryl in and of itself is perpetuating the excuse behind posting mental health shaming videos to laugh at, poke with sticks and throw tomatoes at people for their human frailties. A person in an emotional break yells at you, how about people just learn to get over it? Stop calling them names like "Yeah, we're totally qualified to label someone as crazy. Crazy is clinical, it's cool." No.

Your first story is a perfect example of how civilization is ending in the United States. An environment has been created there people believe they can do what ever they like with total disregard for others as long as they get what they want. The part that enables this behavior is the exponential increase in violence in situations that one would never expect it. One can never know when a simple conversation will escalate into an armed encounter. The idea that might makes right has been embraced by large portions of the populations. You did the right thing by not putting you life on the line over a campsite but unfortunately that is what they are counting on. You also did the right thing by not leaving and standing your ground.

Great videos, some people can be rude, and some can be creepy. When I was younger my dad answered the front door and these kids were driving this minivan, completely drunk, ( they were like 16).They wanted a jumpstart for the van. My dad told them that was not why it wasn't starting. (He is a mechanic). And then he called the police and told them. Then they come back to the door asking to use the water hose. Also forgot to mention that it was like 2:30 or 3 in the morning. Eventually they got the thing to start, so the kids, (3 or 4 of them all drunk) get in the van and drive off. So my dad gets in his truck and follow them until they got out of town. He calls the police again and tells them what is going on. And comes home. Finally, about an hour and a half later, the cop comes, sits in front of the house, by the time my dad gets his shoes on and goes outside the cop is gone. We never heard from the cops or the kids.

It's amazing to me they showed all this patience and "peace" to the two seriously rude people (who needed to be spoken to, yes, in a civilized manner but they needed to hear "This is not OK.") but then completely shamed the mental-health-problem third case with excessive time and judgment. I'm appalled by this video to be frank. Their priorities are all wrong which begins with an unreasonable fear to just speak up when they should.

In your last five things you mentioned something that stirred an old memory. So i could relate. You talked of seeing a old guy sunning himself naked. Well My neighbor in a mobile home park I lived in who was just a little off to say the least. Outdid what you saw I went outside in the mornings sometimes and had a soda and a cigarette standing there on my back porch. I noted the neighbor come out now have you ever one of those no that is not what I saw moments. Well I did not believing what I saw I looked again he was as naked as it gets just standing there as if that where what one does. He then peed into the grass off the porch in the broad day light. When he was done he just went back inside. So it doesn't surprise me one bit at what you saw. Its crazy out here in the world and its not letting up! In fact its getting worse. Don't think these people aren't dangerous like that woman Shirley you never know what they will do. Its best just to step back and call the cops and let them deal with her!

The only weird thing I ever remember in all my years of camping, was about 30 years ago. I was camping at a campsite I had been to many times before. I was the only person in line to use the shower, and no one else was in the restroom at all. I was patiently waiting for some gal to finish her shower. When she was done, she was friendly and told me that the shower hot/cold water was tricky. I smiled and told her thanks, I have been here before, I can figure it out. After about the 6th time of her INSISTING she wanted to come in with me and "show" me how to use it, I started to become *ahem* agitated. She finally left. My husband and friends laughed and to this day, call her my "two bit buddy" 🤣

So many people have an idea of how they are affecting other people. I was raised in a way that you are careful how your actions affect others. My wife is Japanese, and when we go to Japan it becomes so vivid. They are concerned about everything they do and how others may have to deal with anything they do. In Japan sadly it is mostly that there are terrified of confrontation and any kind of public humiliation. But here in the states so many just are so self-centered. Just look at the way people drive. Oh yeah, and the trash thing. I would have gotten in so much trouble if I had thrown any trash on the ground. So strange that people just throw trash out their window. You guys think these encounters were unusual? That stuff is examples of 50% of this country.

How about setting up a large sign at the edge of your site that says PRIVATE. And another sign: BEWARE of DOG sign.

Make a sign stating " campsite is occupied, please stay out" put it on a plastic saw horse and make it look nice a neat even have one made up at a metal shop or plastic. I have had to tell people and the rangers will come out to clear up any confusion sometimes people get citations for having done things like trespass on land the rangers already barred them from.

I own some land near NF land and we cleared out an area looks like a camp site we take our RV up there and camp. Some woman tried to tell me I not allowed to camp there. She called the sheriff's department I keep a copy of the deed of trust in our RV because of these kinds of situations once the deputy saw it he told her to leave. I told him have her officially Trespassed he wrote her up warned her to come back. I left a trail cam there while we went home came back the following weekend. I looked at the footage sure enough she was back camping in our spot. I called the sheriff gave him a copy of the video they took care of it she was charged with trespassing. Turned out she was homeless her husband left her she has mental issues her parents called me asked if I would drop the charges explained the situation we felt bad so we dropped the charges as long as they kept her away. She hasn't been back again I told them they need to get to a judge and have her committed get some medication.

Thanks for your personal Testimony(s). In short, I would say that the "weird" encounters appear to be deliberate harrassment. When other "campers" are setting up and intentionally camping in close proximity, the situations seems to go beyond coincidence and again the actions are deliberate with the potential efforts in order for the two of you to act aggressively towards the campers in question. The other intentions are to cause you fear when you are participating in a activity that you thoroughly enjoy. You appear to be nice people but make no mistake, these campers in question are capable of felony actions and never underestimate them. Good Luck in your travels and be aware of your surroundings coninuously.

I think it would be hilarious to make some "campsite stories" videos with poor lighting, suspicious characters, reenactments, scary background music, and narration in the style of "Unsolved Mysteries", except for really silly stuff, like someone moving a lawn-chair, drinking the last beer, or anything involving racoons.

Would it be weird to rope off the whole camping area that is temporarily yours? I was thinking that setting up orange cones might work but sounds like they would just walk past them. These stories scare me as a single older female who's soon to be priced out of conventional housing and will be living in a vehicle.

great idea! I would do that when salespeople came to my door at home. My dogs would park and look vicious and I'd say they "should move on, they're not friendly." Though the truth was, they only barked until someone came in and then they'd lick you to death with love.

I'm glad you chose not to show crazy Cheryl on video. I'm sure she has mental health issues and probably can't help the way she dealt with you (although medication might help and hopefully she is getting the care she needs.) Thanks for taking the high road and allowing her to remain relatively anonymous. I know it would make for an exciting video for your viewers, but I think you made a good choice on this one. Safe travels!

Might I suggest having a few big cans of Sabre Red personal defense pepper spray on hand. They're three or so ounces and shoot twelve feet. I've used it a couple of times on off leash dogs and once on a person. It's bad stuff and it'll stop a person or a dog cold. It's a decent alternative for self-defense vs a physical encounter or a firearm. I always have it on hand.

paid for a spot and neighbors ran generator all night but fortunately the loud neighbor did shut there music off at 4:24 am. Quiet time was 11 pm. I honked the horn with the key fob. So they drove their truck purposely right past our our fire pit. I have had my truck keyed cause people are triggered if you say something.

Just a suggestion. Next time you camp at site with overlook view, put up a sign at your camp entrance. “This campsite is occupied! Trespassing through someone’s campsite is extremely rude! Don’t do it! “. Of course it would be fun to also add”trespassers will be sprayed with urine!” Ha! People can be so rude! Maybe even post there’s another lookout down the path or something. It’s worth a try.
