I’ve lived in China for 6 years and I didn’t know this place existed 😮 China always surprises me with its hidden gems 😁😁😁

Harbin Ice and Snow World International Ice and Snow Festival has been held for more than 30 years. Harbin is completely different. Central Street and Xuexiang are beautiful fairy tale worlds. That is my hometown, too.

冰雪大世界去年爆火了,在这之前很多南方的中国人也不知道它的存在😂

Probably you don't connect with local people much when you live in China! Harbin Is super popular city to travel in winter time, especially from last year
China is massive and huge. Need a whole life time to explore

I hesitated when my friend invited me to this festival 6 years ago because I was busy working in Taipei and wondered whether I could do well in such cold weather. I went anyway and now I have to say I'm glad I made the right decision. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. So beautiful!

Two of you are still young at heart 💓 Lovely video Mr. Potato😊
Dry snow creaking, squeezing sound under feet each step taken remind me of college time in 1970s walking at night to University of Wisconsin Madison computer center to run the computer program in punched cards!

The Temple of Heaven and Macau church ruins ice sculptures and all of the snow sculptures at the end looked amazing! I wonder if anything is sprayed over the snow sculptures to protect them like people do with sand sculptures~
@TravelinChina2 күн бұрын
They spray the sand sculptures with water, I think, to make them firm. Didn't see anyone spraying the ice. In fact, the reunification monument from Golden Bauhinia Sq actually looked like it was melting. Obviously, it wasn't because it was still below freezing. Maybe an optical illusion.
