What I need is a spotlight that's bright, dependable, waterproof, shock resistant, is fairly lightweight, good battery life and/or economical power requirements. Needs to be both serviceable in a marine environment and inexpensive.

Hey, i happen to have a dorcy spotlight like that one, but its old and doesnt have any stickers and i dont have the charger. Whats the proper voltage of that thing? Thanks for the video.

Just checked... Input: 120v ~ 60Hz, 40mA Output: 9v - 300mA

Bruh, get on my level, 30W+ XHP70 LED light. Just kidding man, excellent comparison..it surprised me too! Based on my own Convoy L6, the results shocked me (I'd love to find the actual rating of both the bulb and "3W" LED), though the cheesy/lightweight build quality definitely foreshadowed the Harbor Freight light's performance. Thanks for the video!

My brand new HR light charging indicator turns red when I plug it in, after a little while it turns off but never turns green. What's up ?

No clue, buddy. It might be defective and won't fully charge. HF has a decent return policy, I'd exchange it for another.

Mine does the same thing. The light stays red for like two minutes and then goes out.

A $22 (Amazon) and a 3 star rating vs the harbor freight light at $15 and a 4.5 rating if I remember right.

Stanley Fatmax has a 10w model with 2200 lumens and 700m throw for $50. Best by far.

Your are comparing apples to oranges. An LED light is going to hold its charge for MUCH longer as it draws much less power. So question becomes how long will the light work throughout a long stormy night. Reviews say the HF light will last much longer. Give up a little brightness to last a lot longer. I bought the HF light and am very happy with it.

I wish I could help you. I gave mine away to Goodwill. However, I know you can take it apart and see what kind of battery is inside, and that might have a number on it that will indicate what the replacement battery is. Good luck!

Wow...a comment on an OLD video. That cat's name was Perros, and he was one of the coolest stray cats I ever met. He was a brawler, too. He had no problems taking on anything outside but was a pal when there was a lap to sit on.

Great comparison but why did you leave out run time? I converted my 55 watt halogen spotlight by removing the 12 volt lead battery and wiring it with a 6 ft cord that plugs into the 12 volt cigarette lighter. it's maga bright, I keep the runs brief so not to blow any fuses. I only use it to light up what the head lights are not able to get at. No single LED can out shine a juiced up halogen, but halogens are using much more juice than a LED. The XML-2 made by Cree is the best LED on the market as of today. Cree only makes the emitters not the devices, so look at the device to see who made the LED. Even if it says Cree it could be a Cree knock-off so the brand and their manufacturing Technics are to be taken into consideration...

@@InJasonsGarage I am looking for a 12 volt spotlight with a 3" inch lens so I can retro-fit it with a 3" inch aspheric lens that I have. All so I can focus the beam into a tighter intense spot, with the end goal of illuminating clouds with an image. Something like the "Batman" signal used by Commissioner Gordon...

@@InJasonsGarage I have learned that many of these spotlights on the market today are set-up like mine with no battery and a cord to plug into the 12 volt cigarette lighters...
