Side by side extreme durability test between the Harbor Freight Apache 1800 case and the Pelican 1150 case. How tough are the Apache cases in comparison to the Pelican cases?
I conduct the following tests with both cases to see how they hold compare:
TEST 1: 30 minute water submersion test
TEST 2: Drop test on concrete with an egg inside - I wanted to see if the egg & the case would survive the impact from 5 & 10 feet up. I figured this test would also see how much impact the foam inside each case could absorb cushioning the eggs.
TEST 3: Crush Test - I drive over each case with my 2008 3/4 ton Chevy Silverado diesel truck. I should note that when I performed the test I had 600lbs of sand bags over the rear axle that I keep there for traction. I did this test to see how much weight and torque the cases could take before being crushed.
TEST 4: Bonus (at the end of the video) - I drive over the Apache case at 20MPH just to see what would happen.
Also included is an update review of the Apache 1800 noting some additional information that I did not include in my original review. Original review found here: • Harbor Freight Apache ...
