After you get it like you want, spray it with plastidip. Its supposed to also help the foam from coming out after repeated use.

Nice, finally got my pistol permit. I bought the 3800 for home and the small 1800 for my car in HF with 50% off coupon today

I put a double layer of cardboard ( cut in same pattern) between the two thick foam layers. It makes for a more rigid stable case especially when carrying it. That keeps the foam in better shape because it won't flex.

Wouldn’t recommend for long term storage unless you have some sort of dehumidifier inside

Throw in some silica package in there and you should be good for years. Replace the package every year or so if you want to be extra safe
