I just screwed a piece of 1" oak wood across the back so it will grip everything and pull it out. It really helps if you have a plastic bed liner in your box. You are then able to pull out over a ton of material! I doubled up the material and screwed with large body washers to grip the fabric.

I've also put a tarp under the unloader belt laying over the sides and reaching just over the tailgate. Only a small amount is left on tarp. When done just pull tarp out and bed is clean.

Wow, a local youtubber!!! Hard to find around here. So far the modified bed unloader works great!!! Subbed back.

Exactly. That’s what I do. Then easily pull the remaining debris. Nothing left in the bed.

I did this same thing before with my load handler, but ultimately found it easiest to connect a long pipe with locking collar and large washers with pvc "rollers" cut the same width of the top of the bed rail so the tarp actually goes up the back of the load to the top of the bed, then when you unload it cant pull down it just rolls across the top of the bed rails. Also makes it super easy to set it up before loading

They need handles on both sides so that two people can crank in tandem 👍.

We will see how well it works in the morning, I have a giant load in the truck!

Just bought one yesterday for my 2004 Dodge Dakota and the tailgate is about two inches too narrow. I saw another KZbin where the guy cut the cloth about 2" and that gave him enough room to fit the brackets on without them hitting the truck bed edges. Watching your video, while setting up to modify mine. Im thinking that if the 2x4 is left long enough to sit on top of the sides, then attached to the end, it won't be able to slip down and should slide forward with the load. Another comment mentioned putting that set up on rollers mounted to the top if the bed sides. Which is probably ideal, but more stuff than I have on hand.

On a similar note, I have the load handler pro which is all metal brackets.... I have seriously considered bolting a small harbor freight $60 winch to the bracket on one side and connect to the main pipe with a sprocket and chain setup..... Just imagine how nice that would be to push a button and watch it all come out rather than cranking.... It could def be done well.... I am very close to doing the same for my heavy bulldog jack on my dump trailer.

If I had a dedicated work truck I would have a mechanized or motorized version, probably a dump bed insert would be best.

When you drive does the back tarp move or anything without velcros on it? Also when ur done what to do you now that you have wood cause you want roll it up so just leave it past tailgate or? Just bought one yesterday!
@EdenLawnServices2 жыл бұрын
Kyle, without wood on end, I would use Velcro. The tarp will unwind while driving. With wood on tarp I just let it unwind till the wood hits truck bed when tail gate is closed. The weight of wood keeps tarp from moving while driving!!!
