I had an extra shop vac so I hooked them up in series with the one on the end pulling the vacuum and the one between trapping the dust. The one trapping the dust is not plugged in.

I have seen loads of videos on upgrading the Harbor Freight sandblaster. It seems that people spend hundreds of dollars and uncounted amounts of time doing these upgrades. Would it be better to buy a slightly more expensive model, to begin with? Or do the more expensive models require the same sort of modifications? I ask for information-- I know nothing about these blast cabinets, but I'm in the market for one to carve glass. I don't want to be pennywise and pound foolish.

Thanks for your comment. Shop around and learn a little bit about blast cabinets before you plunk down your money. The secret is in the blasting gun and feed delivery system. The blasting gun system is where the expensive cabinets shine. Media cleaning and separation is also an important factor. The size of the actual cabinet is very secondary. If you shop, you'll soon find that unless you spend way over $1000, even on a used one, your basically getting the same thing as what harbor freight sells.

@@marcellemay7721 That's what I needed to know. If paying $500 would get a substantially better cabinet than the Harbor Freight, I'd figure I came out ahead by spending the $500. But if it takes over $1000 to get a better cabinet, I might as well stick with the Harbor Freight and do a couple of hundred dollars in modification. Thanks for your answer.

Could you give me the address for the Tacoma pedal upgrade kit and price I looked on line and there web site is not working. I just bought the cabinet yesterday , thank you. Alan

AlanDavid1955 You have to e-mail them. Here's the link to the info. www.tacomacompany.com/ They really don't have a web store. If they had a web store, they'd probably sell hundreds or thousands of these kits...They really are nice.
