Howdy, Brother! Thanks for the review. I've been satisfied with my sharpener for over a year. If you're able to resharpen a few blades the machine pays for itself. I haven't replaced the wheels yet but it's nice to know HF has replacement wheels for $9.99. We appreciate the time and effort you dedicate for the different tool reviews. Praise Jesus!

I bought mine about a year ago. It works pretty good for a home wood shop. You just need to. BE patient when setting it up. Also I believe the stone wheel has a bevel o it for doing non carbide blades. I’ll have to reread the direction. Nice review. Thank you.

@0:58 .. If you going to use a blade to cut any material it should always be sharp. Like my granddaddy always said "A dull blade only cuts dull woodworkers". I enjoyed the video, Thank You...

I got one recently and have only sharpened one blade. I followed the directions to a tee and it worked flawlessly? I noticed that you are using the diamond wheel? I know it will work but my directions said use the stone wheel when sharpening blades that are not carbide tipped?
@snapwholeharborfreightreviews
@snapwholeharborfreightreviews 2 жыл бұрын
they recommend using the diamond wheel on carbide tipped blades, the stone wheel will be worn out if used on carbide tipped blades, the diamond wheel on the other hand sharpens carbide tipped blades, and steel blades, so the recommendation on what wheel to use for which blade is more about not wearing out the stone wheel on carbide tipped blades, if not setup correctly, the diamond tipped blade can wear out your regular blades early, the stone wheel is more forgiving of incorrect setup - thanks for subscribing!

I don’t use the ratchet device I just line up each tooth by hand and it works fine
@snapwholeharborfreightreviews
@snapwholeharborfreightreviews Жыл бұрын
the ratcheting device is designed to allow for an easily repeatable action for consistency, what you are doing by hand works just as good if you take your time - thanks for subscribing!

On your particular setup wouldn't the last two teeth receive a different grind because the tooth position will have change when the stop comes up against the newly sharpened teeth? Wouldn't it make more sense to adjust your stop in the gullet instead of against the tooth... Or am I looking at this wrong?
@snapwholeharborfreightreviews
@snapwholeharborfreightreviews 4 жыл бұрын
its almost impossible to get the stop block to nest in the gullet and still maintain the best ratch/rotation movement, the last two teeth would be slightly different, and both of these issues/fixes would vary greatly with the size of the blade, watch for an upcoming video on how big a blade you can sharper, I already posted the video, so it will work in to the schedule soon - the last two teeth being slightly different would not be relevant for blades with more than ~16 teeth

What do you think of it after 2 years now?

I keep all of my blades sharp, and this device is working just as well today as the first day I bought it, if you buy HF blades, it takes longer to save enough month to pay for it, but I bought a stack of 50 blades, lots of different size from 4 inch to 16 inches and sharpened all of them but the plywood blades and save a lot of money paying to sharpen them, and got more from the ones I sold because they were sharp - I still recommend this for sharpening saw blades, thanks for subscribing!

@@snapwholeharborfreightreviews thanks for the info, I've been using Diablo for years but I'm switching to CMT.... my Diablos will be my backups. I'm also interested in the Spider Tarantulas that Lowe's carries... honestly because they look cool lol and my son loves tarantulas lol, but I think they're made in China and if they are that'll be a deal-breaker for me :-(

Ill try, when you use the brown one, you will have to change the angel of the motor to about 10 degrees and the angel om the brown blade will fit on the top

You are using the wrong sharpening blade . The Dimond one is for Carbide tip blades only
@snapwholeharborfreightreviews
@snapwholeharborfreightreviews Жыл бұрын
you have miss understood the requirements, the diamond wheel is recommend for carbide tip blade, but can be used on any blade, the stone wheel should only be used on non-carbide blades, it will work work on the carbide tip blade but will be used up quickly for not a lot of results - using the diamond wheel on non-carbide blades most certainly works - thanks for subscribing!

A lot of the dust is the rust.
@snapwholeharborfreightreviews
@snapwholeharborfreightreviews 4 ай бұрын
same amount of dust comes off when sharpening a clean blade, especially when using the diamond wheel, the rust did not account for every much of the dust - as mentioned in the video I used an old blade for the demo because I normally do not have dull blades - thanks for subscribing!
