Good info! This is not for a particular brand you have... it’s for general tips! Lots to learn from this one. Thank you!

Interesting, for sure! It’s hard to make suggestions after the fact but ... if you don’t mind that I give my 2 cents worth... maybe next year, before the weeds come... empty the greenhouse of everything, including gravel and put down hardware cloth (smaller than chicken wire and much more rigid - keeps the digging friends out) and on top of that landscape fabric (no more weeds) and then the gravel back on top. Easier said than done, but I hope you don’t mind me suggesting 🌸

Hi Danni! We have the same greenhouse! I placed a weed barrier and floor made of pallet wood with mine. I was scared to bring my orchids out in my greenhouse but im glad i did because they seem ti like it.

That’s fantastic! I was nervous too but the orchids are thriving and loving it. I like the wood pallet idea for the floor!

Thank you for all your tips and tricks! We just recently built our HF 2- 6x8 greenhouses here in Indiana (we attached them together making one 6x16 greenhouse and lifted it using 2x12 treated lumber and then of course we had to modify the door, lol). Oh, btw, I also have a gap in my door at the top like yours! I also have found the "no where to hang anything" issue and will be implementing your trick but probably will use wire, like heavy duty picture frame hanging wire or something similar. Have you tried putting a 5 gal bucket of water in your GH during the winter when using your heater? That should help with your no moisture issue. One more thing I wanted to share since you mentioned the size and holding all your orchids. I purchased the Flowerhouse FHSP300SHV SpringHouse Shelving Set from Walmart (they were the cheapest at the time). It fits perfectly in the 6x8 GH. It sets up in a U pattern (or you can set it up in any configuration you choose) giving you 2- 4 shelf high (4' T) by 6' long by 18" wide and 1- 3' long by 18" wide by 4'T (3 shelves & use of the ground below the 3rd shelf). Anyway, I love it and it was super simple, no having to build shelving, just unfold, lock into place and place the shelves on the frame. I am still working out how to heat mine during the winter, we do not have electricity near ours, so there's that! I'm installing a 100W 12V solar panel and 12V battery to run a 12V radiator fan to help keep it cool, cause it's a sauna in there during the summer! I have lost a lot of water weight, lol! Again, thank you so much for your video!

I purchased harbor freight 10'x12'x11'3" ininstalled a 4x4x12 & 4x4x10 foundation. Screwed the base to the 4x4's. Then purchased 50/50 topsoil 6yards. Put 9" of topsoil in made a U shaped floor garden then put 4x4's in corners (concrete) with (2) 2"x4"x12' & (2) 2"x4"x10' for structural support frame. I'll add 2x4's angled both front h back & a 2x4x12' down the center for final structural roof support then use the lower structural support to make up 4x4's and add long pallets to those for my wife's above grond shelves. Now she has above ground shelves 12' long both sides & a U shaped floor garden with 9" topsoil and a walk way down the center for access and the rear has no shelves for taller vegetables 😊

If you can install exhaust fans , I bought them on Amazon and have them on a thermostat controller outlet to help with the heat and in winter I cove them in plastic. Great video I have the same greenhouse.

To hang your basket, you should buy some metal electric conduits, flatten the ends, and drive screws into the greenhouse. This will allow you to hang the baskets and give your greenhouse more support.

In winter 🥶 time you need a heater inside the green house.?? Or you will wrapping with plastic?? 🤗🤗
@dannisorchidjourney4 жыл бұрын
Maggie Caceres yes I will still need a heater but hopefully it won’t have to run on such a high setting this winter. Last winter I had to keep it in all the time which really zapped the moisture from the greenhouse.

I’ll get my , but it’s going to be in my garage 🤗😂

Good, I hope you get it soon! We contemplated putting wheels on the bottom of the frame so we could move into to garage during winter.

I grow orchids and the sun is too strong at full strength. It would burn my plants and it helps keep the greenhouse cooler during summer. Happy growing. 💜
