AWESOME VIDEO!!!! This is one of the best parts washer videos I’ve seen. I’m not one for leaving comments but I had to give you props on this one. I absolutely love how you thoroughly explained every step and showed all the parts you were going to use. You have great information and HELPFUL tips for the build. I wish other guys did videos like this. Great job man THUMBS UP!!!

Why would you use a 3/8 to 1/4" fitting on the pump side when your using a 3/8" ID fuel hose? The hose fits too loosly on the 1/4" Barb.

Hey mike, I’m unsure how to message you about your questions on the oven. I thought there was an option, but I’m not seeing it. Lmk if you have any idea. In other news, I have to do this exact mod on my washer as well. Turns out your video was the one I watched last year when I ordered all these parts, lol.

I'm wondering if it would bed better to use a diesel fuel filter instead of an oil filter. It's think it would handle the solvent better.

Worth a try. So far no problems with the fuel filter.

Coltons dad , You did a fantastic video here sir yours is better than most of the others I've seen online and I'm using basically the same solvent tank I'm using one from jegs ( it was less money than the Harbor Freight ) parts washer tank , and only $10 for shipping .

Rather than messing around fitting filters on these washers, surely a far better upgrade would be to replace the cheap and shoddy garden fish pond pump, with something of industrial quality that can cope with solvent based degreaser? Using solvent based degreaser, means cleaning is much faster, and an industrial type pump will outlast a fish pond one, maybe 20X?

Filter is all ways a good ideal but they stop up quick and are expensive Let it settle and just switch out buckets and keep the good stuff and dump the rest

Nice job, not sure I would want to install castor wheels so it doesn't move around too much when cleaning.

Thanks. I installed the lockable type. For me it was more a matter of space. I store mine in a corner and pull it out when I need it.

I don't really remember. I believe it was the smallest that Lowes sold.

I need somebody to answer this Question for me... Shouldn't this filter that everybody is copying and putting on be a pre filter before the pump ? Because if you get stuff to go through the first little filter , Won't that go into the little propeller than into the second filter ? by than the damage would be done already. I'm just saying , I'm trying to see the logic to all this.

So pumping systems typically have a strainer on the inlet side of the pump, not a filter. The filter will cause issues by creating a restriction to the pump. In pump termed its becomes an NPSH issue and the pump starves. Specifically as the filter becomes clogged with debris. The parts washer manufacturer installed a small ad but with larger openings to act as a strainer to stop large debris. Same with the Scotchbrite pads that we see people adding as an improvement. Basically an additional strainer. This should be more than sufficient. The filter should always be on the pressure side of the pump due to the high pressure drop across the filter element. For example check out an swimming pool system or lubrication system used on the petroleum industry. Filters are installed on the pressure side. Hope this helps. Also if you are using water-based solvents you can’t use a paper element filter as it will decompose and plug the system. You must use a grid or sintered element filter (more expensive than spin-on paper element oil filters). Use of water-based solvents is safer for both the garage/home were it may sit for long periods and more important yourself. Although water-based solvents are slower acting than petroleum-based cleaners, they have higher flash point (less loss of solvent) and healthier for your respiratory system.

I don't see why it wouldn't. I've seen people use diesel fuel as well.

Don’t, it’s not the right type of pump and is very very dangerous Get the 600.00 dallor ones for that and make sure it’s rated for flammable liquids

no one installs the filter inside, looks like there is enough room, no drilling, no grommets, no spillage removing used filters.Pump doesn't have to work as hard. Good video thanks

This product should not be used heated...No, the Crown PSC 1000 is considered a combustible fluid (flashpoint over 100F) and so it isn’t recommended for use in heated parts washers.
