You supposed to pump the handle before you tighten it up. That will let the air pocket out, and then it should only take about five pumps instead of twenty.

I bought it for personal automotive maintenance and whatever else might come my way but primarily it is for lubing the ball joints on my older vehicles. I installed my grease cartridge with the metal extension pipe already on I don't see the need to do it any other way, it doesn't make a difference. I just assembled it along with my extension hose that I added for an additional $4, which is great for getting around tight spots. Gave it a few pumps like you and voila it worked. I've used large grease guns professionally before and for personal use you really don't need something so large heavy and encumbersome. Can't beat it for the money.

the order you assemble the grease gun is not important, as long as you included all the steps

Found thrush bearings to add to my riding mower where the steering linkage is at and since I need to clean it off and pack the little bearings there is a grease fitting on that linkage and I want to make aure it's lubed up so I got the Kobalt one at my work (Lowes) and a 3 pack of Lucas grease for the job but I've never owned a grease gun so this helped me out getting mine setup as it's a mini grease gun like the HF one.

This gun works well enough for me to grease the augers on my snowblowers but I bought a flexible hose to replace the straight pipe to make the job easier. I swapped the plug in the top to the straight pipe's former location using a metric hex key and connected the hose to the top. The only other problem is that the coupler doesn't want to release the grease fitting until you unscrew the end a couple of turns.

I have one like this. Dunno where I got it. It only seems to work when I put a new cartridge in. Next time I use it, no grease comes out. I think maybe I'm empty. I pull plunger back and grease shirts out back end where you lock the plunger handle at.

PRO TIP>>> REMEMBER: If you are greasing & the tip will not come off the zerk,, loosen the fitting on the top of the grease gun to release psi & the tip will readily release. !

I have specialized Yamaha grease I want to dispense, can I empty this container and manually load grease in tube ? Do they sell 3oz tubes of different brands types? Such as if you need waterproof grease or for different types brands?

When you buy it new, its empty, so you can add what ever grease you want, and you always clean out the unwanted grease and replace it with your great of your choice, there are quite a few 3 oz grease refills, so I'm sure you can find different greases to refill the gun - if you do that, can leave a note here with how it want? - thanks for subscribing!

I am sure there are others available that will fit, there are amazing number of options for sale on amazon, finding the right fittings on both end is the hard part, I've never used anything other than what comes with it thanks for subscribing!

no I explained in the video that I use it on my power tools, I have normal grease guns for my car, normal grease guns are too hard to use inside items like a table saw, planer etc, if you try to use this on your car, you would have to be desperate and several refills on hand - watching the video answers most questions like this

i have one of these and cant recommend it.. main issue is it leaks from the tip when locked. on the zerk..2nd, when you want to release from the zerk, it wont come off.. yes, ive unscrewed the tip when trying to remove it and it Still wont release without a hella effort..many people try too hard and have snapped off the zerks

the trick is to force it free without damaging the fitting...... I would try to more it around at different angles, if brute force, I would pull it off a a direct 90 degrees, so straight off - not many options - thanks for subscribing!

that is going to vary for every manufacture and model - if it has a grease fitting, you should pump until old grease is gone, but again, that will vary - thanks for subscribing!

you can take it out but it will change how the grease gun works, you will get less control over your flow of grease, and you will need to be careful how you store your grease gun
