Harbor Freight's ICON Pocket Knife REVIEW!!

I Saw this Knife Today and Had to have it! Overall it's pretty good, but they could make ONE important improvement.
I tried out some "glamour" shots of the knife with the music just to see if it was a good idea. Ha. Hope it's not too annoying for anybody.

D2 steel( if heat treated correctly ) is a very good steel and great for this application. Resharpening not needed, well at least on mine, it’s very sharp out the box and all I did was is give it a few passes on my strop and it’s razor sharp. I use my pocket knife daily cutting endlessly boxes, tape , straps and plastic, so let’s see how long this edge lasts

Cutlerylover last night and ran out to Harbor Freight and grabbed one. I'm likin' it. Cutlerylover said they are really a Todd Begg design made by a manufacturer in China that's re-selling with a different pocket clip that sells for around $76. So this is a savings of nearly 50%.

Just picked this knife up today. It seems really nice. Very nice build quality and finish. Time will tell how well the blade holds up, but for $39, seems like a good value.

Lifetime warranty for 39 bucks. You can break the blade if it ever gets dull, get a new one

For around 30 bucks that really is a good price and if you catch it on sale or a coupon could only get better. Great review! I think I'm going to pick one of these up i like the looks of it.

Hey man, I’m new to the channel and thinking of subbing. 5:01 you can always tell if a knife is made exclusively for rightys when the clip is on the right side and not reversible. I really dig this knife man. I’ve bought a couple so far. I know it’s a “clone”, but it’s a damn good one.

I’ve been carrying that knife for many months now and use it ALL the time. It’s a fantastic knife for the price. Good catch on the non reversible clip, I hadn’t thought of that part. Now that stock is back up at harbor freight I constantly think about getting a second one!

I got mine for 17 bucks, this knife is extremely high quality. It feels like a $50 + knife I couldn't not get it

We have to agree to disagree...I'm a lefty and I find the frame lock super easy to use when closing the knife with my left hand. In fact, that was one of the first things I noticed about it. However, I agree with you that it comes really sharp right out of the box. I think that this thing is a steal at $40.

It's a rip off from Todd Begg's creation but still a great knife. and the Price, well, pretty good for the aesthetics and ceramic bearings to the knife having no play at all. You get more than you paid for!

Got a link for the green otf knife I had this one had to return it twice lock keep breaking an got sick of returning it so made them give me my money back

It’s a f-16 by AKC. I got it on Bladeshq.com. If you’re breaking the icon knife not sure this particular otc will hold up to the same usage. But worth a shot!

⁠​⁠@@sheltermonkey6065They’re both made in china. The handles on both are made out of G10. The blades on both are made out of D2 steel. They both have pivot bearings. They both have a drop point blade. And they both have a liner lock and flipper tab. They’re identical knives that are made in the same country. Chances are they’re made in the same factory.

I talked to Todd and he didn't know they were coming out...but that's what icon is...a clone company...usually just see it with tools. Now we are seeing the crossover in knives. I carried this knife this week...uploading results later

The clip is NOT deep carry. It leaves a solid inch of pointy handle sticking out. Also prone to breaking. Curved "half moon" shape puts the blade in a weird nose down location.

If you use a liner lock or frame lock left handed... just reach around with your index or middle finger to release the lock. It's pretty easy.
