they are Pinless Adopters , great job on review and fixes Nick, Put you a piece of Carpet between the bench and the saw to reduce the vibration, you can get you some blue painters tape over the insert to make a zero clearance it your doing smaller pieces

Wow that's really quiet compared to my old 1988 model Rexon scroll saw. It broke this morning. I'm bummed but I guess since I can't find a part, I'll go pick one of those up. Variable speed will be a nice change. Hey! I can make a bench Sander or grinder from the old motor! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for this. I had the same factory "defect" where the bottom clamp that holds the blade was angled (mine was to the left vs your right). By watching this, it was an easy fix! Thanks and for that, I'll give you a sub. 👊 P.s. if anyone knows how to fix the fact that the blade isn't centered in the plastic cap, that would be appreciated. It not affecting anything, just annoying and distracting

Could this be used to cut stones? With the proper saw.
@NicholasGomez4 жыл бұрын
Luis Gomez great question! Am not sure if it would be able to do a hard stone. I have used this with an aggressive blade to make square cuts on plaster-a-paris material before.

full speed is ok to cut quarter inch acrylic ? i suppose the 15 tpi would be best to cut it or what do you suggest to not chip the acrylic? i am buying one of these today!! thank you for your time!
@NicholasGomez5 жыл бұрын
Blunted &co. I think full speed would be okay but would suggest starting lower speed first. As for the blade 15 to - that would probably work but would recommend one higher if availabl. For chip out prevention I definitely recommend using masking tape and packing tape on the surface. Easy pressure and go slow.

Lisa Anderson I was having the same issue as well with mine. It’s suppose to be active when the upper arm goes up and down. I think I will be upgrading mine with an cheap aquarium fish air pump. Kind of a bummer to do but it’s the only solution I can think of at the moment.

Ok so three years down the line, how has it held up? How often have you used it? I’m looking to buy a scroll saw right now and I’m looking at either getting this one or the WEN brand that Amazon has if I can’t find a good used one on marketplace.
@NicholasGomez2 жыл бұрын
It held up really well. I upgraded to a Pegasus scrollsaw. Only reason for upgrade was to go to a pinless blade and the larger table and swinging arm. The WEN would be a good alternative as well!

Hi! Thanks for the video. Do you know if a water drip can be added to a scroll saw?
@NicholasGomez4 жыл бұрын
I don’t believe it can.
@z8ty3 жыл бұрын
Why? If cutting anything that would need cooling or lubrication you are using the incorrect saw.
@creativegirl97102 жыл бұрын

Serguei Franca I have cut 1” red oak with it. The saw was a bit slow cutting thru but I had a very tough grained board cutting. Slow movements thru board.

4 minutes and 41 seconds into the video and I haven't learned anything except the blade came crooked from the factory.. learn to cut out all the useless footage from your videos, people have short attention spans.. we don't need to watch you adjust the blade or put the cover back on.. just tell us you did it and we will believe you.. now back to the video..

Actually, i just bought the same saw and seeing the repair helped me pay attention to the same issue mine came with. Even showing me the wrench, blades that came with it made me realize I left something in the box I was about to throw out (was a discounted open box so the extra bits were stuffed down in the styrofoam). Keep doing it your way. There is fast forward for a reason. Every "extra" bit can help others. If people want to complain about having to take an extra second to skip some content then they have issues. Maybe just add timestamps for those who are too impatient.

Generally good video. I would make a few changes. One - too much time on the repair, 2 - Too much time on replacing the cover and finally too much time talking about where the saw is going to be. Not knowing the name towards the end was a bit surprising.
