The perspective of an experienced welder is invaluable for the novice (me). What's important, what's not, will it "do the job" for the home diy'er. You've included all of this. The cart review is nice touch as well. Thank you.

I have the same welder and have been using it for 2 years now, built lots of little and big projects and it has worked flawlessly. I installed 240 receptacle in my garage and it works well on thick metals used to make HD bumpers. I found my welder at my local HF as an open box with the same cart for $550 together. I could not pass up the opportunity. It is a very good welder and so far it is stout and runs past its listed duty cycle without overheating or tripping breakers. Definitely worth the money for a hobbyist. Thanks for such a great in depth review!

I am 25 years old for starters. No real prior experience besides watching my dad. Bought the titanium 125 flux core welder for little projects and loved it. About 6 months ago i bought this welder. I have since then used this welder to fund a whole outfitted rig and fashion my own business and soon will pay for certification for welding. Even though i have a big fancy welder now i will still take this welder and a generator across a muddy field to fix a farmers tractor. I have used and abused it and smiles every day for me. Im not saying this welder is the end all be all. It has its limitations. I would recommend to anyone who is looking to start out with small jobs or at home.

I have a different model of the titanium. I have the mig 170 and I believe it is an excellent welder at the price point for the product line. I carry it in my service truck and have used it for a large weldment repair on a combilift. It performed exceptional and the repair shows no signs of an issue two years later. The machines are very capable if you know the limits and prep your work accordingly.

I've been welding for 10 years and this little guy does great. I have an SA200 on my rig I use for pipe welding but it's loud and not practical in the neighborhood. If I'm doing home projects or little side gigs this machine is my go to. I'm confident it will weld good enough to pass a welding test. I've been thinking of doing a 6G pipe test on some small bore with an actual WPS and see if it'll make xray quality welds lol. I've had lincoln and miller for the shop and this titanium actually not only compares but excels in some aspects especially in the mig portion on autobody. Great video by the way just subbed!

I bought one of these machines and I love it. I grew up with an old Lincoln stick welder, so having 2 types of Mig, Tig and Stick in one machine is fantastic. I use it on 110v for most of my body panels on the old 56 I am restoring, but I had 220v plug installed in my shop, and ordered a 25' extension cord, on Amazon, so I can move it around the car to work. Fyi, you can get an extension cord for $35 that is 25 feet. You can not build one for that!! This is a nice little unit and I am truly thankful there is a Harbor Freight in my town for this old guy to have a decent shop! :) And I also bought one of those nice little carts too. I did add a couple pieces of angle iron for a better support for big gas bottle. Very good little welder!!

Great review. I'm actually looking at getting the TIG 200 Titanium machine. It's hard to pass the price if it can really do what it says it can! I was a fabricator for a NASA contractor 30 years ago.....so my TIG experience is way beyond out of date. Been using my ancient Miller thunderbolt 240 stick and little Lincoln 120 MIG since then. I really need a TIG for what I do these days, though.

I love that welding cart. I have my Millermatic 211 MVP on the top and I made a few bends and put my HyperTherm 380 Plasma on the bottom shelf. I installed a set of receptacles and an quick connect air chuck on the back of the middle shelf so I can run one power cord from my wall source and one air hose from my retractable hose reel to the cart and power both the welder and plasma cutter and wheel it around where ever I need it. After several years I did upgrade the casters after the original bearings got a little "chunky" with all the weight and a 110CF bottle of C25.

I actually have that same cart. The only thing I changed was I added a BW cylinder holder with a 2 inch stand off because I use the bigger bottles and it impacted the gas line on my welder. $39 for the cart and $23 for the bottle holder stand off adds up to a silly cheap and nice enough cart. I was able to trash the little chains too. I can lift the cart upside down and the bottle won't budge. Nice little add on.

Several things. No, you’re not a simple guy, you know this. I like your presentation. The content is good. In general, the video is fine. I do wish you’d not use the blackout in editing. It’s disconcerting to older eyes. I always tell people to read manuals. I’ve welded since 1973. When I bought my new esab welders a while ago, I read the manuals. I always do. Sometimes there’s a gotcha you didn’t expect. And beginners really need to read manuals, as they know little, unlike us. Otherwise I’m happy I found your channel. @@jackofalltrades7822 hi. Yes, where you are editing the cuts together, the video is blacking out for a moment. I don’t know what editor you’re using, but usually, you can just join the segments without any transition. I thought it was deliberate on your part. You must see it when you review the edit. Check the areas where the segments meet and see if there are any black frames. If so, just cut them out. That’s the best I can help without seeing the editor and the final video running in it.
@jackofalltrades7822

Those transitions are intentional. That type is one of several transition types and all have a temp black frame of some sort. I took one of those carts and made a junction box that hangs off the back so I could plug in my welder on the top shelf (Chicago Electric MIg) and my lotus plasma cutter on the bottom shelf. With the junction box on the back there's no real room for the gas tank, however I have my "extension" cord in a 5gal bucket coiled in it. And the gas can fits right in it, not really secure but doable if you watch what you're doing while moving it.

I have a couple machines different brands Primeweld Weld 180 miG and Primeweld 225 tig , and some other machines Lincoln 140, Prime world plasma cutter 60 I love it but I really like this it's not a bad machine for the money , I've had no problems I haven't about 3 to 4 years maybe and never had an issue with it I hope you enjoyed what's yours . The reasons I got the Primeweld is the tig in the 200 works I just fine for Scratch start . I wanted a foot pedal and a better torch you can't add on to that By the way I did have a problem with it not really a problem the Regulator I couldn't get it to work quite right so I got another one right away off Amazon that's really the only issue I really had with it may have been me though I use a predator 9000 generator I'll buy machines they work fine no problem on the 9,000 The privator generator only has a 30 amp to 220 on my 9000 you can get 50 app which I highly recommend if you can get one then you get more power out of the machine When I open mind the 1st thing I do was stick it works fantastic with the stick then I put them in the middle and I didn't flex score worked fantastic then I went and got my bottle I got the big going and I'll tell you what I was impressed the tape worked fine I just want the food but I would highly recommend this machine for the money it's not bad but you can get better deals If you buy this machine you'll do alright

Hello, I use the Titanium 140 and it holds up too everything that I weld. I been welding for 25 years and by far, this is the best welder for the price. I help a friend in his shop and he use millermatic 140 and te Millermatic 185, but the Titanium 140 equalls the same quality as the Millermatic for a much cheaper price.

I’m a diesel mechanic and at my job we run a Miller 252 mig machine, was tired of my cheap flux 90 machine so got the unlimited 140, same thing only 110v because I would have change my whole breaker panel in my house to add another 240 outlet so not worth it to get the 240v version. I’ll use the money saved for a better regulator. I can mig fine but never had the chance to do tig or stick so can’t wait to try it out and suck at it lol. I got a car at home I have to a trunk pan on so I’ll get to try it out come spring time. Good to know it isn’t terrible

I'm a professional pipe fitter/welder and tank builder/welder and I own the 140 multi. Stick welding is the only issue. I can only run 1/8th and 3/32 inch rods. I need this machine to run 5/32 rod at 130-140. I use mine in an industrial setting. Scratch start is fine for tig welding. You just hold the tungsten above the material and scratch the filler rod across it to start. The only issue is the torch doesn't have a flex head. Convenience I guess. The stick weld lead is decent. Kinda awkward at first as its. Ot a 400 amp head that we use at work. Other than that. It's lightweight and you don't want to throw any of it around as it is not heavy duty. You can however buy an after market Miller or radnor tig torch with flex head, but the attachment to run your stick lead to it, switch to tig, hook up gas in line. And it works beautifully. Been doing it for the last 2 weeks doing a half billion dollar plant with a 400 dollar welder with a 300 dollar tig torch. Doing all 304 stainless with some 316 stainless. Our company bought the protig bmvulcans and they run good too. With the same flexible head tig torches. If you don't do that. Then get the stubby ceramic tig kit for 65 bucks. It changes the collet body and head to a much better setup.

I know a guy and what he does is buy the extended warranty and at the end of that warranty something happens to his welder so he returns it gets a new one and Another extended warranty and that process goes on over the years, the Problem i see, is he has to keep buying the extended warranties to keep his newer machines, kind of extra costly, other than that he is a happy camper

I think (if you bought a warranty) you can take that regulator in and let them replace it. That can be a one off issue for that particular unit. Question: Are you using standard 14 gauge house wire and house plug for your source? What is the amperage of the breaker at the house box? I have a 12 gauge wire I ran to my wood working shop from the breaker box with a 20 amp breaker. It is 45 feet long with professional (not contractor) plugs. I also ran a 10 gauge extension cord to extend it to the other side of my shop (because I had it on hand) and it is 25 feet long, from the 12 gauge plug. (Found that one at HF on the sale table for $25). Anyway, I know I got awesome cabling for my shop use, if not overkill, but I am concerned about welding source.

Hard to tell 'junk or jewel'. The warranty is great as I have been through 10 of these machines. Love how they weld until they don't. The wire feed always gives up within 3 spools of wire(12 lbs). Anybody else have this problem. Running mostly .025 wire on 14gauge tubing. If so, is motor or circuitry that gives up?

Bought one when it first came out about 4+yrs ago when I first went to welding school, major diffuser issue, did I complain, did I return it, NO! Took a tap to it and made it so it would except Vulcan tips, this thing is unbeatable but cheaply made that just won’t stop working, and work well. I have thrown out the most awesome MiG dimes on trailer builds, and flux for some insane monster gate side job builds. The market has changed since I bought mine, many players now in the welding market, I’m just commenting on personal experience.

I have the Titanium 170, so pretty much same machine without the tig function. I find the it welds pretty good, especially for my beginner self. But it does seem some times the wire feed gets really wonky. It seems sometimes I have to crank the wire speed WAY up to get decent welds. But overall, like I said for a beginner doing some car projects, it works pretty well.

@@flydaddy55 It's got the correct drive roller in it. I've had the pressure where you could stop the wire feed and I've had it tight where it could push thru a brick wall. It just seems sometimes the feed rate is erratic, especially at slower speeds for really thin sheet metal. Up about 18v and 220ipm it seems fine. I've got it on 240 now, so I'll see how it works.

I appreciate Harbor Freight putting out some machines that you can justify buying without having to be a professional. But then they still work really well as long as you take care of them. Obviously more industrial machines can handle more abuse and whatnot but those machines can be a waste if they are not being used everyday making thousands of dollars for a business.
