Enjoy your video. I am 63 and was a younge man like you. I own snap on , some i bought most inherited. I bought the first edition of the KRA62 Heavy Duty road chest. Small draws on top. Still have the sales receipt. This was back in 1983. What you have available through harborfrieght now is a 100 times better than what i paid. One other thing, where i use to work ,my employers son found a snap-on rachet that looked like a craftsman that you have, that his grandfather purchased; but to this date snapon will not warrant. He was so hell bent on owning snapon until that event. The last snapon I purchased was a 3/4 in drive rachet and breaker headed long bar. Bent the long bar, still have it and snapon will not warranty it. I have snapon heavy duty wrenches that they will not warrenty. Save your money for your wife and family. No car ,truck or tractor knows what tool you are using. Forget what the Jones's (your so called friends) are doing. Think about this, if you break a HF socket, they want the whole set to replace. Does anyone else do that. Name one. You get a whole new set.

These US Generals are still damn good for the money. Best in the world? No. But a toolbox HOLDS your tools. At the shop I work at in the winter we’ve got old Waterloo boxes from forever ago. They are beat to hell and don’t look pretty. But they hold the tools just fine. Aside from wanting a super high quality box just because you like nice things these US Generals do a fantastic job for most people.

I have mac , craftsman and montezuma boxes. I recently purchased the 56in green bottom us general box and must say im impresses with it. It works smoother than any of my other boxes. Time will tell.

A top box would be nice, but you’ll lose the work surface and means of ventilation, i would recommend the 36” cart and put your everyday or most used tool in there, You’d be amazing at how much space you’ll clear up in your box. Another option would be a side locker and store tools in cases in there. Best decision I ever made was a cart over a top box, both at work and my home garage. Having the cart next to the car also just makes life easier.

I just bought a Husky tool box from Home Depot. I saw it on sale and I was going to wait. Then I spill atf on the floor because the pan fell off my stool. Now I have a place for my tools and a counter.

All you have to do is gently jerk all of your drawers open ( completely ) - then , they’ll work better . Hope this helps you . Seems like you never fully extended them . Mine had the same problem with every single drawer . Never had the same problem after that .

I love to see your passion for USA Craftsman tools. Rumor is though that new craftsman plant is going to be more of a warehouse. Maybe some minor assembly and slap a "assembled in USA of global components" sticker on it. Doesn't quite roll of the tongue like "made in USA" did. Like their lawnmowers. They just mold the plastic cover and slap that sticker on a Chinese made lawnmower. Tekton has a surprising amount of made in USA tools though. Maybe the Craftsman of the future. I haven't got my hands on any Tekton yet but I hope to.

Don't let anyone give you shit for using Makita. One, they are their own company. They're not owned by TTI or Black & Decker. I own both Milwaukee and Makita. I'm transitioning back from Milwaukee fuel M18's back to Makita. The Makitas have much more dexterity in their triggers. The KZbin videos that show only torque and power are ridiculous. It would be like Van Gogh shopping around for the biggest paintbrush. If the triggers and tools do not have dexterity they have limited use. When I'm trying to break a lug nut off a truck and then I will go to the Milwaukee. However when I'm trying to put a screw in without stripping things out I will reach for the Makita every time, it's a better tool.

Ive got the blue 56 from hf. As far as the handles and the clear label crap. Get some plexglass 1/16 thick (lowes) take a death wheel cut you some strips clean up the edges and paint the plexiglass strips black and install. Works way better than the black tape crap used in electrical. I done it to mine cause i dont like have to q tip the handles to get the dirt out when i clean up my box. Plexiglass fills the gap snug.

Looking for a home box and I find the heavy duty same size huskey to be more value. Deeper, soft close drawer adj solid wood top and a power strip for 500 less. Those lock tabs on your drawers would drive me crazy.

The husky is def a more affordable option. I think the longevity of the us general tho will be better. But they have gone up significantly in price it’s crazy. The husky will do just fine for ya I think man.
