I am a mechanic, guitar , and gun guy, I have had everything over the last 50 years. Snap-on , craftsmen, mac, Matco, and I bought my first US General about 3 years ago and my next will be the 72” floor cabinet and 52” top box

I did the side box on the cart many many moons ago , didn't take to long for me to make a full frame of steel angle iron to keep it from tipping , very handy box for cheap 💰, use it every day

For the side locker 2 Standard OEM swivel casters could had been installed were that the whole unit would have 6 total casters combined and the 2 locking casters could still be utilized to keep the unit stationary and a metal spacer support under the locker would fill the void of the height differential between the locker and floor once the casters are mounted

That is exactly what I wanted to do ... thank you for showing about “grinding / cutting” the arches for the top lid to close on the side box - mine will be white or yellow since it will be inside (cleaner environment dealing with medical equipment / not mechanic shop)

hey Buddy i’m a retired Woodworker and we used a ton of the similar full extension roller bearing slides that are of your carr’s and boxes i heard you say oil a couple of times and fyi all the manufactures we used reccomended using nothing but Graphite on them so take that as you want oil does have a tendency to allow dirt and debris to stick to it and the graphite of course is a dry powder now i will admit that i have used a drop or two of 3 in one oil in my life but i did follow manufacturers reccomendations on the slides btw a tube of graphite has lasted me over 25 years and we built hundreds of cabinets with that style slide i too ama big fan of the older made in USA Craftsman ratchets although my go to are my Dads 1958 Sk Wayne he bought in the Navy and i inherited my Dad and i restored some Antique British Sports Cars i use a 1970s Craftsman 1/2 inch Digitorq that been calibrated and hasn’t let me down yet

I work out of a US General every day. That box and what's in it provide food and shelter for my family. If it's good enough to get that done, I'll use it til the wheels fall off.

Home Depot made me buy that $9 kit 1/4 and 3/8 also, and 28 wrenches 🔧 for $15 I have the husky 268 kit for going mobile, I added some pliers and adapters an 8 mm wrench 🔧 and removed the 12 pts to save weight

All my craftsman USA sockets and wrench sets I’ve pieced together from pawn shops. A lot of the have individual sockets sorted out in bins

I have the (2)HF 44 boxes the drawer size works better for me. Good collection of tools.

I got the series 2 of this cart in Orange last month. I build out GM crate motors into marine engines. I upgraded from a 30" HF single 1 drawer cart. The side cab is an interesting mod. It is my understanding that Quinn is now manufactured by same company that makes Kobalt and Gear Wrench. I have a coworker that has Kobalt sockets they look identical to Quinn other than the branding.

If you want a set of good gear wrench ratcheting wrenches I recommend the 35720 set it’s a 20 piece set but it has all the sizes you’ll ever need to use a ratchet wrench for

This is an old video but.... I’ve used my hf cart for 10 years every day as a professional technician and I will say after the years it’s held up 100% I have literally beat the handle off it and both front corners with a pry bar and hammers from frustration or anger and it’s still going strong... best 125$ I’ve ever spent as a professional tech
@Bucky916
So I have been a mechanic since 99' and comparing these US Gen carts to Snap-on or Mac is a no brainer. The same box from either is going to easily be 1-1.5k$. They carry the same warranty and pretty much made from the same materials ( mind you that Snap-on and Mac may be a bit thicker ). I have sold all my Snap-on and Mac carts and Boxes and gone to the Husky and US gen carts and tool boxes. they are yet to fail me in the last 8 years. For entry level and even the seasoned tech/mech these are wonderful and very useful tool boxes and carts. I have this same cart in black that is primarily used for light duty and race track/ track day use. Carries plenty of tools and handles the weight just fine.

I feel lucky, I have a full set of American sockets in all 3 sizes, full set of open end SAE and Metric, Full set of SAE and Metric combination, and a full set of SAE and Metric boxed end wrenches. A lot of over kill but worth more than I paid.
