As someone who used to be a sales manager, I have nightmares about the times I've had to deal with a group customers like this. The worst is when they do something they think is funny (and boy do customer groups that act like this think they're funny and clever) and their whole group laughs and generally acts obnoxious the entire time and you're standing there just wanting to die wondering what went wrong in your life while waiting for them to leave so you can just go to your lunch, but they'll keep talking and laughing between each other and being obnoxious thinking they're so funny and they don't care that you have other customers or tasks to attend to and that your short staffed, and you know none of the questions they're asking or stuff that they want to know really matters anyway because they know exactly what they're there for and exactly what they're going to buy, they only use your answers as a source for more material to be obnoxious about, while subtly trying to quiz you to see if you know the answers on the product. I'm glad I'm not working retail at the moment. This s***** part is none of them will ever realize and will be oblivious to the fact that they were actually kind of disrespectful and inconsiderate to the sales manager at certain points throughout the interaction. The sales manager handled the entire thing like a champ and vanishes at the first opportunity.

Good for drilling very soft metal or wood. On steel you could almost stop it if you bear down. Anyway came in handy on more than one occasion, especially installing a storm door. Great as a power screwdriver. The battery finally quit taking a charge. Since a replacement battery was more than a new set I just bought another drill motor with battery and charger on sale again. Ended up with 2 good drill motors with new battery and charger.

I did some research before buying a Predator generator. I got the 3500. Anyways, I found out China has huge factories where one location makes Generators for a bunch of brands. If 6 brands use the same engine, alternator and carb, those 6 different brands are built right next to each other to make component delivery more efficient. Apparently, most products are built this way nowadays. One factory may make 8 or 10 different brands of drills. Those that share the most components are closest to each other. The factory figures out the most efficient way to assemble all the different brands. If 2 brands look similar, I would assume they share most of their components and are assembled in the same factory. No doubt, some brands have their own factory but most don't. Most brands simply have their own assembly line within a large factory. Custom brand components are delivered to that line and shared components are delivered to all lines/brands that use that component.

Those types of warranties can be crazy good. It's worth evaluating the product you're buying and the cost at the time, but it can pay off HUGE. Back in the 90s when I worked at Radio Shack $10 would get you a 2 year replacement warranty on any item under 50 dollars. So if you were a kid buying 20 dollar earbuds, would you want to spend another 50% on a warranty? Hell yeah. We had a kid who would come in every week or so and swap out his earbuds because the wires would give out from whipping around while he did his runs. He easily got 30-50 pairs off that initial $30 cost :)

The employee was the store manager and ask me how long I had had my drill. I told him 47 days and I sorta laughed it off. The manager said all ELECTRIC tools had a store warranty for 30 days. But, since she had seen me in the store on numerous occasions she would swap another offset drill for free. SO, you want to get to know the MANAGERS in person so perhaps they’ll do the same for you. Regardless of the design, you can use any battery with most any other tool. Just buy either complete and ready to go 3d printed adapters online to use any battery with any other tool, or make one yourself from a deceased battery shell to fit in the tool itself and a 3d printed receptacle for the battery you are powering from. All 18v and 20v claimed tools are all 18v and use the same voltages. I have even made an adapter to use my milwaukee 18v batteries on an older 19.2 nicad porter cable tools and it works great even as the battery gets down to the bottom of its charge.

Harbor Freight's warranty really is awesome. If you buy a small air compressor for $50 with the warranty to try. Then you want a larger one you can bring back the mall one and put the price of the small one ($50) towards the bigger one. So if the bigger one is $100 you only pay $50 if you bring back the smaller ($50) one. Even if the smaller one is broken. It's crazy.

About 33% of retail cost. Harbor freight operates on high revenue low margin stream similar to the Walmarts and Amazons of the worlds. So let's say it cost Harbor Freight $50 bucks to make that product and get it into the store, they still make money but they don't have a middle man like the other manufacturers so there's not that jump in price. So the typical manufacturers may make a product for $50, sell it for $100 then it gets sold to us at $150. Harbor Freight farms out the manufacturing like most everyone else, but that's where the price increase stops.

The charge and discharge parameters (Battery management Cards in the battery packs) for Li-ion battery packs are pretty much standard. Any DC motor that draws current from a battery doesn't care what the name on the battery case says. They're so very identical the tool doesn't care and the casing is just plastic packaging. Li-ion 18650 batteries are the key and common element inside. I removed a battery from it's original case, swapped it into another case and it charges and discharges no differently. I now have my second/backup battery replaced for my mower for half the price of the rare and almost unavailable and not manufactured battery pack. Kinda need it for my mutli-head unit; line trimmer, chain saw and hedge trimmer attachments, plus my lawn mower and leaf blower too. The quality of the Lithium Ion batteries used in some models may be a bit superior, but that's a premium/pricing issue only. The polarity of the connections are pretty standardized for connections to most chargers at a set voltage, 20 V is 20 Volts, 82 V is still 82 Volts. But IF it were an APPLE product... OMG, it would be SO totally different that THEY would never be standardized or compatible with anything else and the premium would be a status symbol only... like most Apple products

HF's building a second location here in Amarillo, not sure if the old one will close after the new one opens but it's pretty huge. HF is great if you don't have unreasonable expectations. The cheap $25 string trimmers work great for a while, but plastic gears have to give out after a while. It's good enough for one summer though. My 6" vise is made of cheap chinese iron, but it's as good as a 5" vice made out of quality iron, and a lot cheaper, it's worked great for 15 years. Some of harbor freight's products are actually pretty high quality too. I got a 42" roll around tool box for about $500 and it's as sturdy as my craftsman 42" roll around, maybe a little better. They do have some junk though, so just know to be careful and do your research.

When people convert children's power wheels to these dewalt and rigid batteries they're foolish because these harbor freight 5.0 batteries last longer and they're less than half price. They do the exact same thing and you can save money. Converting things over to 18 volt has been a big thing these days. That would be a cool video if you run out of things to do someday. I'm a rigid man but I use dewalt Milwaukee, makita, Bosch and bostich for certain tools. They all make great products and using one brand specifically only saves you money in the long run because you can interchange all your batteries. If you're using corded tools there's 4 major brands that most men in the trades use and they're all comparable to each other. Your videos are great and I always enjoy watching. I've bought several tools I've seen throughout your videos and they've all made my life a little easier so thanks and keep them coming.
