Since you're still relatively new, and may not know the names yet, going to fill you in a little...first off, BS 375 is the biggest, fastest, and toughest class out there, so holding your own in That class is tough. That #90, Michael Smith, has won literally hundreds of races, so me of the biggest around, and I couldn't tell you how many championships he's got. To only be 2-3 tenths off of him is GREAT!!!. And the #99, Jeremy Rich, has been tearing it up lately. Been super fast every week!!! You looking good. Keep it up, if it was easy, everybody would be doing it!!!
@travishanner99704 жыл бұрын
@My Account they do tend to get rough every now and then, especially in Pro races. You learn who you can race clean, and who's going to beat you up. But, overall, we got a good bunch at Callahan Speedway. Very few issues with rough driving, or anything like that.

It looks and sounds to me like it may be too tight, and that scrubs off a ton of speed in the karts, since you are working with not much HP. The trick is to be as free as possible and still be able to hold on to it. You can still spin out (like you did) when you're too tight, if your kart pushes up into the slick stuff. Also, when the track is rubbered in and has a ton of grip, you can definitely prep your tires TOO much. That's why some of those guys you are racing against have 30 wheels and tires of various compounds up in their haulers. The track will usually get more grip through the evening, so it's nice to have some less prepped/harder compound tires to run in the later races.

Second this about the tires ^^^^^

I don't even mess with the low hp stuff because of all this. Prepped slicks and one line racing isn't for me. I like having enough hp to throw a slider if I need to or being able to run the top.

May be a good time to get in the Dirt Daddy 56 and do some laps in it. Then go get the kart again and have a refocused mindset on things. But, like the others said I can tell your improving each time, but that place reminds me of a mix of NASCAR Bristol and Martinsville as much bumping and stuff happens. Lol !! I ain’t understanding the drivers meeting, the official say “no rough driving no bumping no lane changes & we’re gonna have men in the corner watching”. But yet these are the roughest drivers I’ve seen in a long while. Keep your head up Joshua, you do have a fast kart & you do put down some fast laps. But you seem to get shafted a lot, being bumped out of the groove & up in the loose stuff. You’ll get though buddy, just hang in there & thank ya Mr. Dave you’re good help & a very patient man.

Need to try just lifting, no braking. I don't think you can run 100% wide open at that track with the way the corners are.. It's really just all about getting seat time, once you figure out exactly how you need to run the track to be fast you'll be more consistent every week.

Just my opinion but it looks like you were not on the correct gear for the track conditions. The track looked a lot dustier than your previous videos probably had more grip which is the reason the lap times were faster. No slimy mud on top. You could probably stand to go up on your rear gear when the track is that way. Keep going up one or two teeth at a time until your lap times top out. Could even try just a simple up in the air pressure to get more roll speed since there’s more grip available and you don’t have to make it with lower tire pressure. Keep digging and don’t make big changes. Then you won’t know what works. Have to take lumps to figure it out. Good luck!
@taylormartin904 жыл бұрын
dude, unfortunately thats called racing. You did good though you are really improving on your skills and I can foresee you winning a feature or three soon.

Gotta get on that rollspeed dynamics tire cut and prep. Many wins on maxxis/Vega and Burris tires. Only thing I see wrong is u are geared too high. That mychron needs to be flashing red just before you enter the turn so drop either the driver or axle gear. Your getting drug out of the exit if your geared up. Call engine builder ask what the max rpm it can handle and push it 100 more rpm. That don’t work call tod Miller in Salisbury nc or moon racing engines and get a clone that can handle 7000 rpm. Really want to see you get a money race win
@Michaljordan14 жыл бұрын
