HARD: Icewind Pass Heroic - No Rain Of Fire - Veteran Difficulty

This is a challenge that was requested by one of my subscribers and it was to attempt a no rain of fire challenge for Icewind Pass heroic stage. This stage is pretty tough and tricky as it is, and is a bit hard to do in general as early on, it is a bit hard stopping the enemies. The trolls and gargoyles early on will cause a bit of trouble. Under normal conditions, when they get clumped together, rain of fire is a typical move to resort to, but that is cancelled out for this challenge. Therefore, we will need to figure out a clever but more laborious way to stop them. The matriarchs and wolves will be a problem too as if too many of them clutter at the chokepoint, enemies could bust loose. We also have the troll brethren along with the yetis to deal with and they will be a nasty thorn to put up with. This could pass as a wisdom test because tower setup really matters on this one, plus, we need to micromanage really well on this one to pull this off. Let us see how we got this done.

haha...glad you enjoy them. I have just developed over the course of years of playing them. I have taken time to learn when waves start, where to position units, when to sell/buy towers, etc. I would honestly say a good way to really get a knack for getting better is playing without rain of fire because it will force you to have use good judgement setting up towers and micromanaging well. You will see a whole lot more from me on that my friend.

@@Simonsay50 It depends. For beginners, it will be casual. Big benefit is that all melee units and heroes have higher HP (20% more) on casual difficulty. On normal difficulty, all units and heroes have their normal HP.

Yeah, Lilith. That reminds me. Someone requested a challenge with Lilith on a particular stage a while that I did. I realized I never posted the video. I will need to do that sooner or later

I always wondered how the rangers hideout (with poison) AI works when there are spiders around (since they cannot be poisoned). Around the 7th minute it is apparent that it totally disregards the matriarchs and aims for the trolls which are further back. So I guess the spiders have the lowest priority since they cannot be poisoned. This maybe the smartest tower in all the KR games.

Glad you mentioned that. Pretty much how it works is if an enemy within its radius is vulnerable to poison, it will aim at it and any other enemy that is not immune to it. Using the poison can be a disadvantage and that is a prime example from what you mentioned. The spiders are not targeted at all and can go unscathed because of that upgrade.

Yeah, good point. That is one good reason why this was hard in general. The other reason is the difficulty containing enemies at the chokepoint. Without the yakker attacker, there is no way to decimate the hordes of enemies to prevent getting overwhelmed. That is why artillery is your best friend for this challenge

@@warchampion8788 one mistake that I did while doing this was not moving the barracks units I just rely on their own toughness to soak the damage that was being given to them 😅

@@VC_JohnCarloElijahPCasis Good. You attempted it. The artillery is powerful enough to take down most enemies. Just moving the barracks enough will help a lot
