I completely agree with Nick point about some players not being high for the Giants and that’s why they don’t have a color. Thought it was mind blowing they only had 18 good leaders labeled. Guys like Sainristil are known leaders. It’s either that or the Giants are very very nit-picky with the blue labels and something like wavy a rival off the field is enough to not earn that. Pink is thought to be measurements.

What is Dan talking about? Rookies never get paid anything more on their first contract. They just get paid for new years earlier. It's 5 years of cost control but you'll be resigning him after year 3.

This is EXACTLY what I was talking about -- they'll negotiate a new deal after year three so you only get three years not the five. - Dan

@@bigbluebanter1108 they don't get more money for year 4 (and 5 if first rnd), they just get paid their signing bonus earlier. Look at Thomas and dex's deals. They were signed early but the Giants saved crazy money by doing so. Burns is making much more money than dex because he waited. Thomas admitted he could have made more money but wanted the guarantees because he knew he gets hurt. I don't know why you wouldn't believe an NFL GM about basic contract structure. Price control doesn't mean what you were thinking it was late at night. Compared to the 40m aav he'll be looking at, even the 5th year option will be cheap.
