Special Wednesday upload! Here's a relatively hard landing, especially for the weather conditions, into Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport runway 26L. Pilot must have missed the flare. Thanks for watching, and enjoy! VIDEO out at 10K!!!

Is McCarran airport in las vegas small? Please let me know.
@DannyBeeVegas4 жыл бұрын
@@thomasmurphy3021 Depends on what you define as 'big'. It has 92 gates across 2 terminals (T1 and T3) and 5 concourses (A, B, C, D, E). A, B, C are connected through T1. D uses T1 and T3, while E is used by mostly international flights through T3. Some direct international destinations include Mexico, Canada, the UK (BA and Virgin Atlantic have daily flights- Thomas Cook had a couple flights per week), France, Holland, Germany, Israel, South Korea, and Switzerland. There are even direct flights to Beijing. The final numbers for 2019 are not in just yet (as of Jan 4, 2020), but they announced it was over 50 million passengers. It does have the capability of accepting an A380, but as far as I know the A380 wasn't flown into LAS.

Why when it touched down it sounded like it was starting to gain speed and was going like 300,000 miles per hour or sthn

Absolutely love that full power Pratt & Whitney/IAE-V500 ROAR in the reverse thrust! Part of it might just be the audio quality but I don’t care. It makes it sound better.

A321 landings are always rough because the pilot isn't able to flare as much due to the long fuselage causing the back wheels to touch down hard
@frankbarth5755 жыл бұрын
Nice landing, stuck it no bounce, everyone walked away
@tomhmartin32255 жыл бұрын
Be willing to be it was auto-land. Notice how smooth the approach is, not much rolling, and no throttle up or down.
@OortCloud4 жыл бұрын
tomhmartin Naw it was manual. You can here the autopilot disconnect. AutoLand does pretty smooth landings
@tomhmartin32254 жыл бұрын
@@OortCloud Yep, replayed it and heard it! I don't like the term "hard landing" because a true hard landing damages the aircraft...it's a "FIRM" landing. :)

Southwest landings are pretty darn good into LAS as well as PHX... they land at LAS all the time.

Jesus Christ! On a clear beautiful day such as this?!?!
@nikos97114 жыл бұрын
Has nothing to do with a hard landing. There could have been many probable variables involved, such as an unexpected thermal or windshear - or it could have been as simple as the pilot flying not paying attention to their VSI indicator which assists them in aiming for an optimal touchdown rate (among the other things it it used for). Most hard landings on nice days are attributed to pilots not paying attention to their VSI indicators; not the state of the weather.

Perfect if trying to catch an arrestor wire on a carrier; ya got 2 miles of runway and thrust reverse!

Any landing you can walk away from is a "good landing" if the plane can be reused afterwards it's a "great landing"
@flapsnslats5 жыл бұрын
FlyboythaACE Not sure if I can agree with that, having seen a Cessna 152 leave a grass strip into a stand of pine trees doing 40knots. Pilot walked away, but certainly not a good landing in my book!
@NVHSChadSheppard15 жыл бұрын
Guess the runway was short?

@@flapsnslats years ago my flight instructor and I watched a student pilot takeoff then retract his flaps immediately afterwards. The cessna 150 went level clearing the trees by MILLIMETERS!

At 4:00, the landing was so hard that you could hear the entire air frame shuddering.

There ought to be bandits riding horseback towards the plane when it lands in Vegas. “Ok everyone hands up! Now empty your wallets and purses”.

@BIOHAZARDXXXX3 жыл бұрын
My guess is the pilot flying was used to the a320 which tends to "float" more than the 321

A lot of times I see “Hard Landing” in titles and its total click bait. This was certainly a hard landing! Not a pilot but seemed like they needed to input some power before the flare. Also thought I heard the AP disconnect at 2:34. Nice touch. Great video!

Davis herpafleslandmaltaairport they are built to handle massive and i mean massive amount of stress well the back wheels are the front wheel isn’t as strong but yea chances of them breaking are low.
