I visited that Hard-Off in Kichijoji a few months ago. I had just finished my lunch at the nearby Coco Ichibanya, and saw this Hard-Off as I was exploring the streets. I am somewhat of an audio-nerd so I was really blown away with all the audio gear they had. They also have an extensive collection of used electric guitars. Anyway - yes, the game inventory they had wasn't the largest. I wasn't shopping for any games at the time, but I did take a look. Nothing caught my eye though.

BOOK OFF/HARD OFF is still good for some games, though they have increased their prices somewhat. That DQ V used to be about ￥1,000 in box about a year or two ago. I got my Japanese Suikoden (I and II) and DQ VII for ￥110 yen each. It wasn't even worth keeping on the shelf. Those prices have gone up a bit. And forget about selling your North America games. Luckily we have Mercari.

It's very uncommon to find North American games in Japan. They're usually at dedicated retro game shops. Occasionally, you'll find some old Atari and Intellivision games lying around though.
