Much of the music I hear on the radio today is degrading to my spirit. Being a teenager in the sixties your repitoire awakens all those happy life affirming feelings we took for granted and thought would never go away. Keep playing and singing the way you do, the world needs what you have got.

I've been playing James Taylor ect since 1971 and until now I've never heard such a wonderful authentic yet individual representation of these songs and on classical guitar. Will be listening to you regular. Thank you so much.

George, your singing and playing is a tonic in a careworn world. The James Taylor version of this song was one of 6 well chosen tunes at my partner's funeral 3 years ago. I think you could do a Nick Drake song justice. Just saying!

フォスターのこの曲が好きです。そしてあなたのギターと唄に出会いました。日本語の詩を描いてみましたので唄ってみたいです。 I like this song by Foster. Then I met your guitar and singing. I drew a Japanese poem, so I want to sing it.

Love your version of my favorite Stephen Foster tune. Don't laugh but my favorite version is Bob Dylan's. Something about his roughed-up singing seems just right for it. The McGarrigles' version is another favorite. .

It's great to hear you sing this, as it is a great song, and sadly, never out of fashion. I am rather fond of the Nancy Griffith version. Your voice is sweet and this is a hard song.

Beautiful rendition, and a fabulous voice. Can I ask a techie question? How are you mixing your guitar? Sounds like it’s in mono - have you just got a small diaphragm condenser pointed at the soundhole?

Thanks! I actually used two AKG414’s one at the neck joint, one by the bridge. Hope that helps.

Did you follow a tab for this? If not, could you roughly list the chord progression so I could learn this? You are an amazing musician, thank you.

Lovely version. Looks to be pretty much standard D shapes with Capo 1. I’ve got it all figured out except that damn chord at “MANY tears” and “CABIN door.” That other mic is in the way. Help a guy out?

There are a myriad versions of this on KZbin. Some with 2 and 3 part harmonies are wonderful but this is the best guitar accompaniment I have come across, by a distance. Only criticism is that your guitar mike is blocking the view of your left hand so we can’t even attempt to work out your chord shapes!! Was that deliberate!?!?

A fine and touching version of a timeless classic, Thank you.
