I really wish I had known about you and your excellent horsemanship when I had my own horse, almost 30 years ago. In Sweden, where I live, this kind of communication was unheard of back then. This makes soo much sense! Leadership is the greatest way if you want your horse to feel safe and at ease, better than all the treats and carrots. Good leadership leads to good communication and you and your horse becomes partners. Thank you for sharing! Every video shows patience, attention and strong leadership at the same time, and adapting to where that perticular horse is at. Sorry if the spelling is off, I'm not use to writing in english. Now I am eager to practise on a friends horse. One small step can make a huge difference.

People make catching horses hard. All you do is let them smell the halter a few times through the fence and then walk away. After they are not afraid of your tools then walk in and put the halter on it's r really that easy. Both my rescue horses were uncatchable if you chased them. To get them walking right up to you reverse the rounding role. In the pasture act like your the horse and always have your face towards the horse. Get the horses attention so it starts at you.Walk backwards for about 20 feet the horse will watch you do this just make sure you are always facing the horse then walk side to side facing the horse. The horse will walk right up to you and it's very easy. Both of the horses I was told were uncatchable were easily caught after simply letting them know the tools were safe. Never use your lead or any party of your halter as a correction device and the horses will be very easy to catch.

I have a20 y.o. rescue horse horse that is easy to catch in the arena. But, if she is out with the herd in the field she is impossible to catch. What should I do? I do ground work with her, and she is good with direction changes and respecting my space.

I USE TREATS WITH HORSES BUT IT'S SOME CARROT OR APPLE & NOT EVERY TIME. THEY LEARNED TRICKS IN LITERALLY A BLINK & THUS DO IT TO PLEASE B4 I EVEN GET UP TO THEM. GROOMING COMBINED WITH SPEAKING TO THEM, MY CROP IS MY VOICE. I WATCH THEIR LANGUAGE & THEY GET IT IF I SAY NO OR BACK-UP. WE NEED TO TRUST THEM WITH US ON THEIR BACKS.
