That's the value of kettlebells, you get the most out of them by varying your training between endurance and strength.

Coming from a sport background I haven’t really trained hard style until very recently (stopped competing) and actually really enjoying the lower reps and less wear on my hands! Which leads me onto my question: do you have any advice for the catch on the snatch downswing? It has always been my Achilles heel and really curtailed my numbers.

I’m stoked to hear that you’re enjoying the lower reps of hard style! That’s awesome that you decided to give it a shot. As for the snatch, I actually have a video that breaks down the whole movement including the drop from the top. I have found most helpful is rotating my palm towards me while my weight towards my heels which creates a counter lean against the kettlebell’s weight, The keeping the kettlebell closer to my hips on the drop. The other piece is Jumping the handle from the heel of my palm to the root of my finger on the descent, which is initiated by the rotation of my palm towards me while I kettlebell is still overhead. Hope this explanation helps!
