you should put a small abseiling kit in for getting the fuck out of low level buildings ,they would need to know basic skills and anchor points but it could be as simple as put on climbing harness(5 secs ) clip rope and drop (15 secs) ...bespoke for the workplace but if that shit was common where i worked, id learn to use it,you can get decent snag proof rope as well to take away line failure as a risk! great looking product thanks for sharing

Pretty ingenious concept actually. Much more discreet than walking around in conventional body armor/vests. A question out of left field, what color paint is that in your office? Great vid! As a retired police officer, I still teach other to use their backpack (usually filled with large, thick school books) as a make-shift body armor. Those books should slow down or stop some rounds from hitting the person wearing it. If running away from the threat leave it on your back and if running toward the pew-pew; wear it on the front of your body. If you have to run, run; if you have to hide; barricade yourself; if you have to fight; fight like lions and kill the SOB that is trying to kill you. Don't die like sheep. God bless our sheepdogs!

Looks like it has a strong zipper which is important. I doubt any average person will ever need a bulletproof backpack though. More important would be an escape plan, repelling backpack if on a high floor (good for fires too) and choosing the better place to sit- maybe near a side exit.

You should do an improvised body armor video. Not like making or building a plate carrier out of random junk but rather like the one you did with weapons where you just grab what is close and available in the moment. Many people cowar and grab somthing they think will help protect them like a cookie sheet or a steel weight plate etc... Things around the house, things in Walmart or other places you go frequently. Which are good options and bad ones. You have whole new set of video ideas now maybe.

I wish I could carry a gun and be that tactical guy (I carry a knife, but with the regulations on what is legal to carry, it isn't exactly ideal) if you're more likely to get stabbed than shot would something like this even still be viable?

If you are committed to the idea of a stab proof backpack you could just slide a large book or laptop into a regular backpack. Honestly any backpack with enough stuff in it in likely sufficiently stab resistant. Unfortunately places with restrictive weapon laws generally also have laws against owning body armour as well. Honestly though the times when having armour that is not already in place and requires time to set up would increase your survivability in a knife attack are pretty slim to none, but a slash resistant bag has the added benefit of keeping your stuff safer in a slash and grab attack. Having said that, if I had to try and tackle a guy with a knife (very unlikely) anything to cover your soft bits would be an asset.

Lmao, that face when you naturally use a CAR stance for CQB (9:31) but then go to isosceles for regular shooting 10 seconds later. I get it mike, LEO's and vets (like myself, I swear everything the Navy does is outdated, I was carrying an M9 on watch in freaking 2015) are still being taught to use weaver or isosceles shooting stances, but its outdated. It took some effort, but I've switched to CAR (used to use weaver) and found it to be way better; just give it a try man. I know its a pain in the ass to un-learn the stance you are used to but its SO worth it, especially when you have martial arts experience.
@SaftonYT
@SaftonYT 2 жыл бұрын
I don't know that it's as simple as saying that one or the other is "outdated" or obsolete per se. CAR definitely has a legitimate niche for someone who has put the time training in it, though. There are different schools of thought from what I've seen with a lot of people falling on various sides of it, some feeling either method is situational or personal preference. I toyed around with CAR once and found it wasn't all that alien, I plan to do some more with it in the future when I get back to the range but at the moment isosceles is my preferred stance.
@formoney5255
@formoney5255 2 жыл бұрын
@@SaftonYT CAR is definitely a more modern shooting stance, that is better suited to a lot of situations than ISO or weaver. It is arguably better for retention, and has several position stages (there's the intial draw, the CQB stance, etc) and is better suited for cornering, etc. It excels in areas that ISO and weaver do not, and doesn't have any drawbacks, at least none i have noticed thus far, OTHER than being more difficult to learn and teach than ISO and weaver. And its fair to argue that weaver isn't necessarily outdated, but ISO is VERY outdated.

@@formoney5255 I agree that standard Iso is outdated for any serious work. In my head I was envisioning Modified/Modern Iso stance which is far more practical in my estimation. Sorry for not making that clear. As for CAR any any perceived issues, two articles do a better job of explaining than I ever could. KZbin doesn't seem to like me linking them, but they're on Pew Pew Tactical ("Center Axis Relock: Is John Wick Right Or Wrong?") and Guns America Digest ("Can Center Axis Relock Make You Faster, Safer, and More Accurate?"). A solid and valuable tool to have in one's toolbox, but not a direct replacement or roundly superior one I would argue. Just one man's opinion.

I do agree with everything you're saying, but what happens when the cops think that YOU are the active shooter when in fact you are the defender???🤔

"People tend to stop what they're doing when you shoot at them." Yes, especially if you have good aim.
