This helped me so much! I bought a beginners kit that had almost none of the design charted and was so confused, makes so much more sense now!

Thank you for the video. It is interesting how each one uses a little different way to indicate the same stitches. Good to have this information when I tackle harbinger!

I did not realize hardanger patterns could be written so differently! I will definitely be coming back to this video if I ever do hardanger :)

It all depends on the computer program the designer uses. Thanks for watching!

I haven't seen all your videos and maybe someone has already given this hint to you. But if not here is my method to count when only a picture is given. Using the design section look at the top of the cluster block, look over to the left or right of the picture where the cloister block lines up and count up to how many cloister blocks there are multiply by 4 (threads) and that is where you will begin your cloister block. I hope that makes sense to you. Love your videos that I have seen. You are a very good teacher. THANK you for sharing your talent.

Wow, thanks Nina. I really appreciate the effort, time and planning you put into this video. It's great that you showed a large variety of examples - It is interesting how differently the stitch types are represented, some are a lot clearer than others. It seems strange that some would leave it so vague

Thank you so much for this video, it could not have come at a better time. I just picked my very first handanger project ( I posted a pic on Instragram, if you want to take a look) and this video is going to be helpful. Once again Thanks!!

+53CraftyLady You're so very welcome! I just peeked at it, they're lovely! Which one will you do (or will you do all three)? Good luck and be sure to show your progress. And feel free to ask questions if you get stuck.

+Stitching with a Smile, Each one is a separate kit. The one I chose is the shorter and wider table runner (#63-1661) with the black crisscross pattern as a border. I am eager to start, but I have to wait for my Magni-clip magnifiers to get here. :-)

Where can we get the Zweigart hardanger pattern 208? It is stunning. I've searched Nordic Needle, Amazon, and the internet and can't find anything. :(

I don't remember where I got this (it was some years ago). I've also looked at my usual sites but don't see it. I did find some other Zweigart booklets at the Sew and So website, www.sewandso.co.uk/keyword/zweigart%20hardanger, in the UK. If you contacted them they may be able to order it in for you (if it's still published). I've ordered other things from them and have found them very quick, accurate and not expensive. Good luck!

Thanks Nina! The counting of 2 stitches over one thread is confusing when looking at a big pattern . All patterns are a little different.

+Norma Jean Myatt Looking at just he pattern can be confusing. I've found that the pattern is very helpful for counting where to start motifs, etc, but I also use the photo of the finished piece to help me understand what the designer wanted.

Thank you for your videos - I want to make lavender sachets, where can I find patterns?

Hi - I would suggest trying Nordic Needle first (nordicneedle.com). I found two sachet kits on the Sew and So website (sewandso.co.uk). If you're in Canada Gitta's (pittas.com) has hardanger supplies and patterns. There are other suppliers, you may even be able to find someone close to where you are. Good luck!
