Hi, I have just discovered your channel and it is amazing. I am from Spain and I am learning other type of embroidery, but I am fascinated with hardanger. Nowadays, I am learning a kind of spanish embroidery very similar to hardanger: "bordado lagartera" and "calado canario". Please, share more videos, please please please. There is not hardanger teachers where I live, and I would like to learn it by myself with your tutorials. One question, what fabric are you using in this video? and what kind the fabric is the best to do hardanger in your opinion? Thanks for your videos, your channel and tutorials. Thanks a lot. And sorry for my English.

+Raescou I'm so glad my videos have helped you, thank you for your lovely comment! In this video I'm using 22 count Hardanger fabric. This is what I learned on and is fairly easy to see. My favourite fabric is 25 count Lugana, but any evenweave will work (but not Aida). Just adjust your threads accordingly. (i.e. higher count fabric will need finer thread). I've never done "bordado lagartera" or "calado canario" but I've seen some of this work, it's stunning! Thank you again for encouragement and good luck with your embroidery!

Hi. I'm so happy to have found your channel. Question. Do you anchor your blanket stitches before you cut? I've been told to do this step. One can do so by hand or machine. Thank you. Alia

Hi Alia. Thank you for watching! I have heard of anchoring your blanket stitches. The method I heard of is for areas where your blanket stitches are in a long line (no turns or corners), then it was suggested to sew a running stitch by hand or small zig zag stitch my machine under where the blanket stitches will be. I've never done this and so far I've never had an issue with my fabric pulling away from my blanket stitches, even after many washings. But it certainly can't hurt to do it! Thank you again for watching! Nina
