I got an utterly hardcore and intense Chinese street massage in New York City Chinatown to fix my broken ankle and I just wanted to share. It might be one of the only street massages in New York City, and it was a truly weird street massage as well. You see those "$2 Indian street massage" videos all the time and I was excited to get the chance to see something similar in NYC. Hope y'all enjoy!

When I do reflexology or Accupressure on friends, same reaction, well not as intense as what he was giving you, n afterwards they can move n feel better!! I only picked up fr/ friends who know how, and have worked on me. I’d rather go the natural medicinal plants, massage, etc route w/o pharmaceuticals if I can help it!! Kudos to that gentleman!! @@Dranzerk8908 As a massage therapist, it is not just to make you "feel good". I work with a chiropractor, so I see people who have been in auto accidents and workman's comp. accidents and generally people who are just so tight it's like their back is a a brick wall. I don't really do "spa" massages. Not as drastic as this guy but a good firm massage. Can it cure you, no but it if I can loosen up tight muscles and if you do the "homework" you can definitely feel better and will stay in better shape. So the homework is: 1)live a stress free life: if you are a massive type A personality (you are juggling too many balls in the air,) you have to change. I have people say: "I'll try"...that doesn't work; you have to do it! 2) Take up yoga: you don't have to take up a class, plenty of stuff on youtube. You don't have to turn yourself into a pretzel and you don't have to do it for an hour; 15 min. is good. Stretching is your friend. You will thank me when you are 80. 3)Breath deeply, every day, every chance you get (at a red light, every time you take a break at work, every time you go to the rest room, while you are waiting for the microwave to be done etc.) 4) Meditate: It doesn't have to be an hour or a half hour session. If you really can't settle your brain, start off by setting a timer for 2 min., put some laundry in, do another 2 min., do the dishes, another 2 min...then gradually increase. I meditate for maybe 10-15 min. maybe 2 times a week. 4) If you are really stressed out--take an epsom salt bath, no lights, just a candle, personally I make the water as hot as possible, throw in 5 handfuls of epsom salt. Put on some relaxing, soothing music from youtube. When you get out of the tub, you will physically, mentally feel so relaxed and lighter in mind and body.

He previously sprained his ankle (not broke it) and then it healed, but some of the muscles will remain tight. The punching around the ankle and lower leg will loosen those tight muscles, give better range of movement, and take most of his pain, if not all of it. Same with the shoulder. You think he's a weakling for screaming, you'd probably react the same way if it was done on you. A dying healing therapy, that needs to make a serious come back.

He does something im very good at to because i grew up with a mom who is a physician... He has a good feeling where the muscles run, where fascia has "tight" spots an relieves the nerves. He is also improving blood flow in some areas and loosening up the muscle even tho they might feel tighter afterwards. this is easy doing massage techniques by feeling and it can be really good, but ones you go into chiro/physiotherapie you can fuck up alot.
