I am vegan for the last 3 years and I stay in India. India is a country where anyone can go vegan easily. And one correction - Veganism is not a lifestyle as it's a compassionate choice, a choice towards the other living being, an environment where we live in, nature which we must nurture. Being vegan is not about being ready or not, you have to think through what life you are leading and what exactly it is impacting. Besides that - India is loaded with the best vegan food like - Rajma Chawal, Chhole Bhature, Kachori, Roz ki daal sabzi, and whatnot.

Being vegan in India 🇮🇳 is in fact the easiest. Traditionally India has been a vegetarian country so the normal food we eat every day sabzi, roti, dal, chaval, salad, fruits, legumes, pulses, grains, nuts everything is by default vegan. We just have to cut down on dairy products in chai, coffee, dahi etc which is not that difficult. Literally everything that we eat is vegan, even our street food like chaat, chhole bhature, parathas, South Indian food, veg pulao, veg biryani, etc. Just be conscious to use oil instead of ghee, that’s it. 🤷🏻♀️ So even without trying a lot of Indians follow vegan diet most of the times. This video does not show a correct representation of a vegan life.

@deepikatadakhe3 жыл бұрын
Shad here I guess you edited your number from more than 95% to 80% now. That’s a big drop. Also, more people are non vegetarians now. I said traditionally India as been a vegetarian country, the invasions of Britain and Mughals brought in the culture of meat eating. Also, even if 70% of India eats meat, that still makes India the country with most vegetarians and the daily Indian diet vegan friendly.

Defaming vegan and vegetarian food by showing only fruits and salads... Come on.. Khichdi se leke chhole tak, sara Indian khana to easily available hai vegan food me.. Roti sabzi hi order kar lete restaurant me se.. Burrito, noodles ku6 bhi bana sakte.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Not that I'm prejudist but it's absolute wrong portrayal.. 😌

There are so many amazing vegan recipe you can make but it sad to see you only eating fruits for breakfast you can still make aalu paratha without butter,vegan pancake,tofu scramble,PB&J,oatmeal,veg pakoda,veg sandwich and in lunch you can have any vegetarian curry without butter,cream and instead of paneer you can use tofu
Might be possible what she read about it be the reason behind her actions

There are many points one person should shift to vegan diet : 1. Non-veg is just inefficient way to get energy ( ever heard the energy transfer equation in the elementary class like 8-9 class ) 2. Our body is also evolved in a way to efficiently digesting vegetarian food ( because of the long digestive track most carnivore animals have short digestive track ) 3. Most of the high performance athlete prefer vegan diet like Serena williams and many others . 4. Vegan diet can also help in contributing to climate control ( Even more than planting trees ) I m not kidding just research before contradicting this point ( carbon emission from one non-veg person for 10 year is equal to one whole tree's life time ) 5. avoiding meat and animal based product can help improve resource utilisation for any country (It's takes wayyyy more resource like water, land, time etc. to these product ) 6. it's expensive than vegan food (even time taken to make non-veg dishes are more than veg-dishes on average ) 7. some people will say meat it good source of protein and fat etc etc etc but your putting a chunk of meat in your belly doesn't mean your body will magically absorb all the protein it won't. plus there are veg-items that have more fat and protein and etc etc than meat-items just judge them on quantity per quantity standard ( like x amount of protein in 1 kg of two different items ) 8. plus have any one heard any disease or virus or bacteria that cause harm to human and came from plants

This is such a misinformed video and should be corrected or taken rectified for the same. I am a Scottish - East Indian raised in both the countries & have always been amazed by the tremendous variety of vegetarian and specifically vegan dishes India has to offer. India is globally known for it's vegetarian population. Apart from the scrumptious west- Indian delicacies from States like Rajasthan( eg. gatte ki sabzi🤤 ) & Gujarat (eg.dhokla🤤) which might include use of dietary products but can easily be replaced with oil ( Sunflower, Olive, Vegetable, Mustard etc) along with the delicious North- Indian vegetarian dishes ( Chole bhature), pahadi food which includes lots of greens, East- Indian cuisines especially has the maximum use of varied vegetables ( green leafy vegetables, root vegetables, legumes, stem vegetables, 101😜 variety of gourds, tapioca, asparagus, cabbage, cauliflower, eggplant, fruits like banana, papaya and jackfruit which are eaten when raw in various curried forms, banana flower [ called mo-cha in Bengali], good use of poppy seeds, mustard seeds as flavoring agent also as star of the dishes! ) North- India has an extensive use of different grains eaten in the form of rotis like bajra, gehu etc etc. My knowledge is absolutely not complete and there are a 1000 more things to talk about. However, As far as I think the host in this video might not have a personal exposure of these, which can be an influence of the style of cooking she has been raised into which is not at all a bad thing but her research or experiences were not enough to claim "unavailability of ingredients, or lack of demand" because if she is always going to look for Avocados for her everyday vegan meal it's not something native to India rather "Avocado toast" is a very "Aussie" thing and hence the availability problem might arise. Instead she should've ventured into local Indian cuisine and produces native to the country ! Cheers & Tschüss ✌🏻😁

Except dairy products everything we have in India mostly on daily basis like simple roti,sabji,curry ,rice is vegan our street food snacks are mostly vegan ..evrywhere in world when ppl try to go vegan they mostly prefer the Indian food..clearly this video did not justify being a vegan that too in India.
