Hi I’m thinking of getting this very car this week as a roller. I eventually want to do speed runs and build it up. What do you think a good starting radio and motor with servo would be just to get it up and running. And did you get any better bolts (the ones you rounded off) if so what size are they and length? Did you find any metal chassis supports? If so I want to get those also. Thanks for any help you have I think this looks an awesome car tbh

I have now bought 100 M4 X 18mm Full Thread Cap Head (12.9) www.accu.co.uk/en/cap-head-screws/16024-SSCF-M4-18-12-9 Cost £4 for 100 of them, and also some M4 washer to sit under then. Just a comment on your comments about the servo. My experience with those Amazon-level 25kg servos is not at all similar to what I see on the internet. I have two of them. Both are utter garbage. They will not recenter properly under any sort of load (i.e., a carpet, or grass) and they will not hold the EPA adjustments under heavy load (such as going in reverse). This makes the steering very sloppy, especially under load or at high speed (i.e., when you most want steering control...). My use case here is a heavier than stock Axial Bomber with an Axe 550 system on stock 2.2 tires. Front wheel weights make the problem worse. Going to a better servo completely eliminates the issue. I am currently running a 3Brothers G14 directly off of 3S Lipo. Save your money folks and buy decent servos.
@HardcoreRC2 жыл бұрын
Dont get ours from Amazon, only ever get from Banggood, don't know if that makes a difference or not, but from our experience and many others i know these are great servos, not the fastest and not the strongest, but work very well in 1/10th and 1/8th scale bashers, not had any issues with not being able to turn wheels or not re-center etc. These servos are in our Kraton EXB, Talion, Notorious, Typhon TLR, Kronos XTR, Granite, Bigrock speed car (105mph), Limitless x2 speed cars, Mojave EXB and the DR8. In two years of using them only had 2 fail. We only promote items we use ourselves and recommend.

You're taking the car straight out of the box untuned on the suspension versus a car that's probably set up for that crappy track and it's only a second slower yeah the typhoon TLR is better. That style track is more for a truggy with bigger tires
@HardcoreRC Жыл бұрын
Both cars were on stock settings, both on 4s and both on the same ESC and Motor. Yes one is a buggy and one a Truggy, but simple fact is the TLR Typhon is not a race bred buggy, any real race buggy will eat it for breakfast on the track, its just a marketing move by Arrma to sell more cars, if it was a race buggy it certainly wouldn't sell with the Spektrum system like that are pushing it out as an RTR now. It is better than the standard typhon though

@@HardcoreRC well I'm not too familiar with the Arma other than I guess they bought out losee I'm used to the old school like I have a Mugen MBX-5 and I was racing with the off-nos and the other Adam Drake cars and stuff like that so I'm assuming the arma would be a good car right out of the box which I have one and it seems to be good but I'm not using it for track. @@MrYukon04 Arrma didnt buy out Losi, Horizon did and Horizon also own Arrma, plus a ton of other brands. Arrma 6s cars are all based on the Team Durango platform and the Buggy is based off the Team Durango DX8, the whole move by Horizon doing the TLR Typhon was purely a marketing money making move, its a good mid grade Buggy but wont touch the likes of a Mugen, Tekno, Losi, Xray, Koyosho buggy
