i remember listening to blackie in 08 and thinking this sort of aggressive, overdriven almost trap was the next wave - but it took another 10+ years to start hearing it in more mainstream sounds - he was actually incredibly ahead of his time. today we have yeat, who to me is a child of blackie, but much softer in comparison.

@@kaos5633 when i first heard "knives inc" i was shure it was some death grips b-side, but when i found out it was a 2008 album from this guy my jaw dropped. he is 100 precent inovator.

@@TimTam60 Peggy has a song called "ALL CAPS NO SPACES" which is a clear reference to B L A C K I E, I've been revisiting his discography because im 99% sure he sampled him in the last track of scaring the hoes

@@kaos5633You can trace the "style" as back as you want, "Mystic Sheep Drink Electric Tea" by Divine Styler came out '92, the rest of the album is not as harsh, there's a clear before and after blackie's fist EP in industrial hip-hop, but not really the first to do it
