On Chinese MCC I’ve done halo 4,3,2 with the checkpoint sharing workaround I just need halo 1 for that sweet sweet nameplate.

My proudest Halo achievement was definitely completing every MCC Halo campaign Solo LASO. Halo 2 solo LASO genuinely was far and away the most difficult thing I've ever done in a video game. EDIT: And for the record, at around 6:50 you mention the Envy skull. Unfortunately, to get the LASO achievements, you have to play the LASO playlists in MCC. For Halo 2 LASO, 343 decided to not give us the Scarab skull or Envy skull, so it is much harder than you think.

I’m grateful to have the LASO master achievement. Easily the hardest thing I’ve done. Beat all game on LASO. The feeling of achievement is so great from this. Halo 2 def the hardest by far and the worst part was going down the freaking grab lift to the prison to get the boys. Easily took 3 hrs to make it to the bottom of the lift and get a checkpoint.

5:46 Great video, but this is incorrect/misleading information. Halo 2 LASO does NOT include the new additional skulls you mention here. 343 originally added them into the LASO playlist for Halo 2, which is the only way to get the achievement, but players quickly realized that it was 100% impossible. A few weeks after launch the new playlist contained every original skull from the OG Halo 2 on Xbox EXCEPT for Envy. So missions where you play as Master Chief are even more difficult, as old LASO strats will not work. If you want to get even more technical it does not include the OG Grunt Birthday Party skull either (which made enemies explode like a plasma nade when shooting their head with a precision weapon). Please forgive me for asking, but how do you have gameplay footage when you don’t even know the correct skulls? Again, I really enjoyed this video and hope to see more.

I keep wondering how I was able to win in regular Legendary. I can't imagine doing LASO. Also, the ending firefight in Coastal Highway is actually easy. Just give a rocket launcher and fuel rod gun to your allies, then just wait in the indoor area while they take care of pretty much everything. I only had to kill one enemy, and let me tell you, taking down a sniper jackal with a gravity hammer is a wonderful feeling.

I have just 8 skulls on. Silent Cartographer was easy, just 40 minutes. The one before that took me 2 hours because I would get blown up all the time before and on the ship, and then Keyes would blow up all the time. I can't imagine this LASO, but Silent Cartographer would be my first choice. It is my favorite mission but jesus I can't imagine all the skulls on.

Just an fyi, the flood in the library aren't infinite anywhere. I was trying to get the achievement for completing it on legendary without dying and I was able to go slow enough to where the flood just stopped spawning

there is an awesome strategy I use for clearing the ENTIRE last room inside the ship of the end of long night of solace. Remember that achievement where you can get into the pelican's gun and shoot things with it? Pro: you can't be killed. Ever. Con: you can't see what you're shooting, and with tough luck on, the enemies typically just move out of the way while you're shooting. HOWEVER, there is actually a way to be able to see what you're shooting from the cannon, and that is to toss a grenade directly under the cannon then quickly get into it. This will shoot the cannon into the pelican (out of sight from the outside) and allow the player to have full sight and be able to kill everything in a 360 degree radius. You still can't take damage. The only downside to this strategy is that once you get out of the cannon in this state, you will never be able to get back into it

As others said, do not do Gravemind first, you need to do the playlist or you won't get the achievement. It is definitely the hardest level though. Also, the LASO on Halo 2 is definitely harder overall than Halo: CE, in my opinion (though CE is the 2nd hardest to me).

I started my LASO crusade on Halo 2 because I didn't want to waste my time completing all of the other ones only to give up on the hardest campaign. Cairo Station as an introduction to LASO was brutal and I still haven't forgiven myself for that mistake. CE LASO is a lot easier than 2 because of the exploding grunts, you can conserve a lot of pistol ammo by headshotting them at a distance or around corners and then the explosion will kill all the other nearby enemies. In CE your shields can also take a hit unlike Halo 2 and Black Eye instantly gives your shields back when you melee an enemy, because of this you don't need to be scared when fighting 1v1 as the enemy won't get through your shields as long as you keep meleeing them.

In Reach on Long Night of Solace, at the end, there is the get in the Pelican turret glitch which makes you invulnerable.

Gravemind is by far the hardest, my friend and I tackled it from 9 pm to 8 am, at the very end of the level it almost glitched me out had to wait for my friend to finish the level, one of the most miserable nights of my life never again

Small correction: Tilt skull is nothing like the Whuppopotamus skull. Tilt multiplies enemy resistances and weaknesses while Whuppopotamus makes enemies more observant and more likely to see you.

My friends and I would always LASO Reach, whenever we would hit a checkpoint we would yell checkpoint in unison and suicide bomb the enemy or dive off a cliff in a warthog.

I am proud to have unlocked all the achievements for Halo MCC and completed all the Halo LASO playlists solo without any of that 'use another person's checkpoint to unlock the LASO achievements' nonsense. I have never encountered anything in gaming as hard as Halo 2 SLASO and I loathe playing Halo 2 Legendary even now because of it! I have tremendous respect for anyone that made it through this challenge. Good luck to those that are attempting to overcome this feat - perseverance wins the day!

I'm currently attempting to beat Halo 2 on LASO on my PC. I've been training with Legendary to the point of becoming a sniper jackal myself and I feel confident about it. Also, I remember that weekly challenge for PoA LASO, took me like 3 hours or so but I did manage to get it. Good times.

You got the skulls that are active for H2 LASO wrong. Mainly, there is no envy. With envy H2 LASO wouldn't be that bad. H2 LASO has: Anger - Enemies fire their weapons faster and more frequently. Assassins - All enemies in the game are permanently cloaked. Black Eye - Your shields only recharge when you melee enemies. Blind - HUD and weapon do not display onscreen. Catch - Enemies throw and drop more grenades. Ghost - AI do not flinch from any attacks. Famine - Weapons dropped by AI have half the ammo they normally would. Iron - Dying in co-op resets you at your last saved checkpoint. Dying solo restarts the level. Mythic - Enemies have increased health. That’s Just…Wrong - Increases enemy awareness of player. Thunderstorm - Upgrades the rank of most enemies. Sputnik - Reduces the mass of objects, making them fly farther from impacts and explosions. IWHBYD - Rare combat dialogue becomes more common. Also your advice to do gravemind first is terrible, because you need to do the LASO playlists, you can't just do the levels in any order.

I played Reach SLASO and then went back with a friend and did LASO, Long Night of Solace and Exodus were the 2 that gave us the most trouble. We spent about an hour and a half on Long Night of Solace and we spent 2 and a half hours on exodus.

I did LASO on Long Night on Solace on my first time through. Seriously, never played the level before and LASO ran it... with friends who had played it before...it took us over 4 hours. Haven’t played with them since.

Fun fact in og Reach if you died during LASO and you save and quit as soon as you die and before u respawn return to the campaign menu. You can then reload your last checkpoint negating the iron skull.. and it still counted for the weekly challenge

Something that I need to pin point, in halo 2 you said that some skulls like the one of the exploding brutes and the one that benefits the hunters are active, but being somebody who beat every LASO campaign those skulls aren't active, one shall think that they should because it's All Skulls On, but well not every skull is active

Halo 2 Laso playlist (what you must do to get laso achievement) doesn't include all skulls in the list. So, your not going invisible anytime soon master chief but at least removed skulls like harder hunters, stronger flood and no hijacking as well as rage bruits blowing up (but that probably bad thing since be great for grave mind run)

Friggin Truth & Reconciliation is the only Halo 1 level I never soloed in Legendary. We did it in Co-op, sure. But all the other levels I could beat alone on Legendary. Even Library which basically became a battle of attrition was doable. Pretty easily even, by the time Halo 2 came around because I didn't have a lot of other games at the time so I perfected my Halo skills. But T&R, that segment when you first enter the ship and all the invisible sword Elites keep spawning and spawning. I could never get through that alone. Man, what a drag.

In Halo Reach, being a Skyrim Sneak Archer/Sniper really helped out my legendary runs, especially when the level gives Invisibility power ups.
