No it does not, it rev matches better, starts up more easily & operated more efficiently after the update + you can check the oil status with the sight glass, add an oil cooler & use an actual oil filter that makes the oil change 10 faster & easier // check your tuning, think about getting a PCV, chimera & after market exhaust // tune that Grom to make it go better, row them gears with more precision, rev faster like a vision, zoom zoom //

what are the torque specs on the banjo bolts on the oil cooler and clutch cover?
@Nrijder7 жыл бұрын
I had a 183cc bigbore kit on the grom but than the intake valve broke. I decided to switch back to the original 125cc bore. The clutchsprings are the only things that remains from the 183cc and now I have the following problem: if I go for a top speed run when the engine isn't fully warmed up (lets say 200F) my speed is 66 miles/hour. But when the engine is fully warmed up (say 240F) my top speed is 59 miles/hour. Also when the engine is warm the top speed is only maintained in 3th gear. If I change to 4th gear it can't keep up and I can't ride harder than 47 miles. I also have a TTO temperature sensor which I put between the (NGK 7)sparkplug washer and the head. This may cause the spark plug to be pushed a little bit too far back out of the head? Do you think that it's possible that its caused by the stronger clutchsprings? Or do you have any other suggestion what could be the problem? If I change clutch springs I will install the Kitaco Clutch Cover too in one run so I am curious about what you have to say. You helped me out before when I bought something from you that you recommended.
@xxjennajamesxy3 жыл бұрын
After watching a few folks on youtube do this clutch cover I have yet to find anyone speaking about torque. The oil spinners weight acts like a flywheel. Lighter will reduce the torque a lot. The engine may seem to spin easier but it can be stopped from spinning much easier. I want to see the differences on a dyno.
@saleshardracing15613 жыл бұрын
That's actually not correct. It Does not have any effect on the torque the motor can output. If you reduce the weight in the flywheel it will reduce the work the engine has to do allowing it to rev more freely. The Torque is measured by horsepower of the engine x 5252, divided by the RPMs.
@xxjennajamesxy3 жыл бұрын
@@saleshardracing1561 I'm not here to argue. Feel free to dyno a before & after. Torque is the engines spinning force. It's altered based on the weight of an engines crank. The heavier the crank the harder it is to stop the engine spinning. Horsepower isn't the measure of an engine spinning. No doubt that the oil spinner contributes to the engines spinning force. All I want to know is how much torque the little engine has both before the oil spinner is removed & after the oil spinner is removed.
@billwiley72162 жыл бұрын
@@saleshardracing1561 Question, not an issue of reducing torque but rather removing the spinner, yes will make it easier for the motor to spin up rpm's faster due to the reduced mass and weight BUT would it not also be true if the engine was used more for lower rpms and say off road use, not high rpm use the added weight of the spinner spinning making the crank "heavier" reduces the ease of the engine quitting or stalling out when used at those lower ranges? Just because one mod or change works well for power and performance for a motor doing high speed runs where performance in the 11,000 rpm range is king does not mean those same modifications will be a plus in an engine where its performance better suites the task in the 6000 rpm range. I love the replaceable oil filter feature and the available oil ports for an external oil cooler but question whether my usage of lower rpm offroad combined with sub 9500 rpm normal cruising usage of the engine if retaining the weight of the oil slinger would actually be better for my use scenario?

buy a bigger bike if you want to go faster- KTM-390 is a good choice for the same money as a grom plus mods .

What's the point in cutting the dipstick
@saleshardracing15616 жыл бұрын
You have to, for clearance inside.

Good videos but kind of annoying how you skip over things like putting the springs in ect.

Good video but the cover is about $100 more than stated price.
@HardRacingPerformanc3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, Costs of Material have gone up, as well as shipping, and covid related supply chain issues has caused the price to increase $59 over the past 5 years since this video was made.

I am uploading my version of this, executed this morning, documented, edited, & publishing as I post this comment, probably live in about an hour, its ~29 min long, watch at 2X speed if its for fun. I cover GROM SF specific things omitted from this other video, & its just the Kitaco clutch cover install //

Want to say a big Thank You to Hard Racing, I've got all Honda MSX 125 / Grom HardRacing essential mods: Kitaco clutch cover and oil cooler, Takegawa super oil pump, HardRacing billet clutch puller plate, shift lever support, tools, Yoshimura RS2 and FE kits, shipped to Italy at light-speed, best price found even with taxes on, and thanks to videos install has been super easy. If you're thinking about modding your MSX, do this, this selection of parts makes a huge difference, performance and aesthetics upgrade without loosing reliability or fuel economy, and huge weight saving!
