littleBIGsynths, Nice work again. I have been watching KORG and Roland Boutique synth content creators. IE, Volca series, SH-01A, SE-02, JU-06. I bought my first Volca two weeks ago as a pre-father's day present. I saw that you started from humble beginnings, Volcas. Then you added a BeatStep Pro. Then a Keystep. Then the Roland synths and finally, recently, the Keystep Pro. First, I enjoy your arrangements. Second, I like the technical details of midi and audio even the NTS-1 for effects. Many people, myself included, watch your channel for tips, tricks, and how-to. Also, you're at a different point in your music production then others. Don't let the detractors get to you. They may have a more refined music taste and can find those KZbin creators as I and others have found you. Keep up the creative drive. I first saw a sequencer and MIDI at work in 1991. My friend had a Commodore 64 with a hardware MIDI sequencer interface. He had that connected to his KORG M3R, a MIDI keyboard, and a rack sampler. Half way through 1 song he would have to pause the recording and load the second half of the song from a floppy disk. Ah, good times.

Based on your vids I bought the Korg NTS-1. It’s amazing, like having a pedal board for your synth. And so easy to route to any synth with the 1/8” TRS cable. With the boutiques…is there a setting in the menu you have to change in order to change the MIDI OUT to a MIDI THRU? Or does it always act as both? Thanks

Very cool as always! I find people respect you more if you play something on top - don't let those keys sit unused during the video 😁

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! 🙂 lol Yeah, sometimes I just let the sequencer do its thing in order to focus on the arrangement a bit more... but you're right. More keyboard playing is always nice. 👍

Just discovered your channel an it really great. It's nice to see such a friendly and welcoming way you present. I just starting out, I have had a large gap from when I used to play music, but a physical issue stopped me. A friend suggested I tried synths and sequencing so I have just bought a volca keys, after watching one of your vids,. My question is this, I really like your style and approach, have you considered doing some beginner set ups and how to? I have been searching but come up empty. Thanks for your content they really reached me

Really enjoyed this!🤗 Is all the sequencing coming from the keyboard, or are some sequences in the modules themselves? I have the original Keystep and some Volcas and Roland Boutiques, and I’m trying to figure out how best to use them together.

Thank you! 🙂 Yes, all of the sequencing is done with the Keystep Pro, including the drums. 👍

Beginning in the field, I find that your explanations are very clear, for now I only have a few volca korg and I have fun with it. I would like to complete my install with a sequencer. What do you think ? Better a simple Key step + a beat step pro? Or a Key step pro? Or other ? Good luck and congratulations on your videos.

So, you’re using a MIDI Through box. Does that mean you’re programming the patterns in the individual instruments and use the MIDI Through to send a sync signal?

Ah nice. I’m just starting to use MIDI with stuff, and I genuinely appreciate the diagrams you show recently. Any recommendations for using an Electribe2 to control three devices at once? I’d need to use some kind of host box right?

Thanks! 🙂 Yeah, MIDI and MIDI sequencers/controllers really open up a lot more possibilities for sure. The E2 is a great sequencer... I used it a lot for sequencing. You definitely need. A MIDI THRU box in order to connect multiple synths to a single MIDI OUT. Please check out this video I made on exactly this topic. 👍 kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYa1kKOcrsqNndE Let me know if it helps. 😉 I also have a link in the video description for the specific THRU box I use. 👊

littleBIGsynths FANTASTIC. Thanks a whole bunch. So far I only have one mini cable that I’ve been trying some stuff out with and learn how it works, but using a through box would be like getting some crazy new abilities. Super grateful, man.
