Really... Razer really cheaped out on this one. Cheap 1080p TN panel, weaker 960m, only 128gb ssd with a 500gb hard drive. Yet even more expensive at $3000 for this garbage, I'd find it hard to justify for even $1000

Petirep Why did you buy this?
@Petirep9 жыл бұрын
I bought the 2014 model a year ago. I was on the market for a high end laptop i could use for my graphic design work and video rendering. I decided to get this one cause i liked the larger screen and my brother had the regular razer blade laptop which is pretty fantastic. At the time there were no seriously negative reviews of it -all the ones i saw seemed fairly positve - so i assumed it was pretty good. I bought it and when it arived i was amazed at how bad the trackpad was. It was SOOO bad. I waited it out casue i hoped i'd get used to it and/or they would patch its performance problems, but the problems with it have only gotten worse. Now, while I've adjusted to the shitty trackpad somewhat, it's having charging problems and will randomly not charge any more. I've sent it in to razer to get it fixed twice, and I assume it'll prolly happen agian. This laptop is terrible :(

S-Craft gƒx Apple actually makes decent products, yet they're slightly overpriced. Not quite as overpriced as this, I own a MacBook Pro and it is very decent and is quite a buy considering the amount of pre-installed apps that come with it that, I believe, justify the price. Now with that being said, I also have a PC and have started to move away since I didn't buy my MacBook for professional use so it has grown quite useless. But if you buy it for professional use, it is actually a pretty good deal and is always a good option when looking for a professional laptop.

I've owned Windows based machines over the past 10 years. Recently I decided to buy my first ever Mac machine and I must say I was immediately blown away by the build quality. Yes it's expensive but you can immediately tell where some of that money went simply by holding it. This is also the first laptop I've bought that didn't come with fucking ugly stickers all over the palm rests, seriously they need to stop doing that. I like my machines to be clean and I know exactly what sort of hardware is inside, I don't need to be reminded every time I lift up the lid. Something else I haven't experienced in other laptops is that the display is perfectly weighted so that the base stays put when you lift up the display. I was tempted to buy the Razer Blade but I've always wanted to give OS X a shot so went with the Macbook Pro 15 2015 with dGPU and I must say I'm very happy with it. Seems like anyone who cares about quality build and design follows the Macbook design path. I mean look at the Chromebook Pixel, Surface Book and of course Razer Blade. I just wish more manufacturers would make laptops that aren't bulky like Alienware or Asus G7 series.

Thanks for being honest in your review. A laptop worth $3000 should not have these glaring flaws. Say what you want about Apple, but no one feels let down for what they get. If Razer wants to aim for the niche, yet highly profitable market, they need to stop this ridiculous trend of releasing expensive and slow machines. Not only will customers not buy the machine now at its current spec, they will be less likely to pay heed to any review featuring the Blade brand in the future.

The blade 14 with a GTX 970M already made this redundant. It's smaller and lighter, making it much more useful as a all purpose laptop, for LAN parties, especially for someone who is constantly on the move. The additional app buttons on this blade 17 are gimmicky but really not a neccesity (and poorly optimized). And in either laptop, you'll rely more on an external mouse than the touchpad.

Razer has always had a problem with properly pricing their items. Apple would be a good comparison but they have been skipping on the dedicated GPU end for a while now putting the gt750 in some of their models until recently adding the M370x. It wouldn't be as bad if they found a more reliable cooling solution rather than relying on maxwell and eventually intel efficiency to bail them out later down the line.

Great video as always! What a huge let down this Blade Pro is, was a huge fan of the 14" blade I had with 870m and was hoping for a Blade Pro 17" with 980m this year. But a 960m and lack of storage expansion options meant I went for Aorus X7 Pro Sync instead. Just got the X7 Pro Sync and a week later I saw a UK website (Overclockers UK) advertising a Broadwell version of it expected June 26th...! Oh well, I hope the difference between the i7-4870HQ and the i7-5850HQ which apparently is going to be in this supposed Broadwell model is minimal in terms of gaming performance... The Blade Pro 17" could've been a very competent 17" version of the Blade 14. Cut the wierd touchscreen trackpad thing with action keys, use a conventional trackpad, one up the Blade 14's already amazing display with a higher resolution display with better colors, and include options to remove the "Razer Green". Seriously, if Razer wants to sell to professional audiences, they need to realize not everyone wants green all over their products, especially professional buyers. Heck, they could add it to their chroma line. That'd be cool.
