Love the new intro! So cool! Planning on hickory flooring in my place too. First logs I milled with my mill. It’s been stickered and drying for two years. Man, you’ve got some great toys! Love your mind on how you remove any opportunities to waste time. Great work guys!

I love the new intro! A little SRV influence there. Hickory is, by far, the prettiest flooring. I'm curious to see how the tooling holds up to the hickory.

It is my man by far. The more I work with it the more I like it. But dry. It’s hard. A little more blow out on making flooring. But the tooling all looks good for at least 4 more rounds. We cut 1500 sq ft. It’s a lot of boards. We will get you some. !

@TwoGuysTimberframing lol. I'm going to mill the hick-ree off the farm and bring it down. How thick do i mill it with the HM130MAX? Is there a preferred width?

Just milled 11 hickory logs for a new client on Monday. I envy your set up down there. I can only see one router in your T&G process!

No Woodmaster has 2 planers. One is on the bottom. In the Live we did cutting the hardwood flooring shows the second one better. Thanks for watching.

Impressive and respectable to make T&G boards. It sure is a lot of work to setup the moulder with two router bits. I currently just plane boards flat and install them with a butt joint, but I'm going to try hand routing the edges T&G because the T&G is a good vapor barrier and structural detail to link the boards. I install wood with screws through the face, so it's all structural and good as long as you can tolerate the little gap between the boards. One note, I recommend rift and quart sawing lumber, it will install much easier than the wide 8" plain sawn wood, but again, impressive and good job by y'all!

Rift or Quatersawn is always best. Get the T and G bit that has a round tongue much easier to install. The Tongue holds the boards together better then just butting adding strength to your floor. Thanks for watching we really appreciate it!👍

Beautiful job. Hickory is gorgeous, but you better have some good quality machines if you're gonna be feeding them a steady diet of that stuff! Nice work!

Absolutely amazing work guys! That is something to be proud of, producing beautiful flooring from a tree that was standing where you’re building. TGTF cool tools episode. I love the custom subscribe reminder. Did you do that yourself? Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us, have great one.

I was planing some beech that came out of the kiln today. It had a little bit of both ambrosia beetle and powderpost beetle damage. The ambrosia beetle is a farmer living off of the black fungus it carries into the tunnels it excavates. The wood has to be wet enough to grow that food or the beetle starves. So black holes are safe when the wood is dry, Elvis has left the building. "White" holes, holes that have no off color, are the lyctid powderpost beetle. That's the one that can slowly eat you out of house and home and is still happy just slower at indoor wintertime wood dryness. Either a weak tree already has the beetle in it while living, where it leaves the nice color trails like in ambrosia maple, or the few in my beech, or its called Columbian Timber beetle when you see it in poplar. I'm pretty sure when it is just black tunnels with no trails in the wood above and below, the tree was dead. There was no flow up and down to make that flag. That's what your ambrosia holes look like to me, and I think you said the logs were cut and sat. I bet there were trails of bug frass on/in the pile when you sawed them? That's where I think that wood got the ambrosia beetle. The true powderpost in my beech happened in my barn loft when the wood was stacked up there at lower moisture. Which still ends in, then crank the kiln just to be sure :). Love your setup, I'm using a planer and 2 routers under a 6' plywood table. 3 operations you are doing in one pass.

Thank you very much. These were Ambrosia post Beatles. The beetle wood I also ran in a vacume kiln so I am sure they are dead. Normally I dry all our own stock. Three cuts in one pass makes a difference. Good Luck with your project.
