Love your sites. They are plain and yet you state the way that the wreath is made. Many of the sites assume that we are simpletons and then we have the sites that try to explain the obvious. We need to know things like where to pick up mesh, adornments but we don't need to be shown the tag for a plain wire wreath and shown the packaging for the ribbon. Thanks for your method. Judy

I love that you are doing this!!! I have gotten a name and a Facebook page because I have this dream.. lol.. I’m but didn’t know about all of the other stuff. Can I ask? Is a business license with the state the same as a Sales tax license? Also, could you tell us do we need a certain amount of items (inventory?) to start with...... oh my gosh I have like a million questions running through my mind right now.. hahaha,

You go, Debi, A business license is not the same as a sales tax license. You can really start just by making one at a time. Be careful not to spend too much when you just starting out.

I got a business license in my state but I never filed for one with the IRS, I didn’t know I needed too....I haven’t sold much at all. So is it necessary to file with IRS? Loryn and welcome to my channel. The way I do it is to double your supplies expeensives, let say the costumer wants a plaid wreath or more added to the order you would take that and double it. Please, remember to search for good quality of item like craftoutlet.com genuine never fail on their supplies and the are very good in shipping and on the items. And you take it form there. Question Lori, can you use PayPal account instead of a checking account for a business?

Hello, there Liz and welcome. You, could use a PayPal account to get paid for but, you do need a way sort of a banking account to PayPal they account it’s yours then what you could do is take it out. But, remembered that is part of verification and also if you do have a savings or checking it’s good cause you might need to transfer money there if you need to buy in a near future and let’s say they accept PayPal and you don’t have funds that’s when you transfer funds from you bank to PayPal or if you make sales and would like to transfer funds to your banks as well. The goo thing is now they send you their own Mastercard but of course if you don’t have funds in PayPal you won’t be able to use it. I would call just to make sure. Long time ago when PayPal came out to the market anyone was able to have an account with no problems of course as they grew and everything started to change. But, you could also leave your earnings funds in there and nothing will happened to it. The good things about them is that when you get paid the money’s stays there for as along you want or when you need to pay anything anywhere they give you their own account Mastercard. My name is Bernadette Chester I tried to set up a craft business but then ended up with Cancer and had to put it on hold for a while I do have a tax ID and registered with the state but its been a yr and a half can I still start again with the same Tax ID and can I register with the state again. Yes, the Hobby Lobby mesh does fray a lot I don't recommend I only use it if I need a certain color that I can't find and I buy their premium only when needed, otherwise, don't waste your money on it. Buy, from Craftoutlet.com they are a high quality of mesh. Yes, that is your best way not to lose out on your mesh and if it is a 21" use it in poufs. Thank you, Lori.

Thank you so much for the info. After much begging from my mom and fiance..I'm going to give it a try. I'm going to start on doing this on the side then hopefully move into just doing this full time for a living. I'm starting out with craft shows and events and have about 5 for late summer and fall. Then after the first of the year start a website and listing on Etsy. Then if that does well and I can do more shows..I'll just do that. I'm very excited and looking forward to more advice.

It's like you were reading my mind LOL. I was about to go to the Texas State comptroller and get a resale certificate license so I can buy wholesale... so even though I do that as a sole proprietor I should still get the federal ID under an LLC through the IRS? Also I've been saving my receipts for purchases I made for supplies but I have been using my personal account or PayPal to buy most of the items so will I not be able to use that when it comes to my tax return? But I will now open a business checking. Thanks in advance Lori you're a blessing
