Not only is the storytelling country, but Country has a love of using Lyrical Musical Motifs. This song has it in the music itself and “a rock” used as a lyrical motif. Great reaction

Hardy is more rock than country, but he is mostly an original. He has the story telling of country but his own way of looking at the world. All his own music is very original. I love 'Give heaven some hell'.

You sound like me and every other old person out there, when music changes on them. And, it doesn’t matter what genre it is. It’s as old as music. The older generation tells the younger generation, “that’s not music… that’s not country… that’s not rap…” I caught myself saying it when I heard Beyoncé’s Texas Hold ‘Em.

Songs and music is evolving, newer artists aren't saying well I have to do this or don't do that, for a genre. Music is dynamic and it's an exciting time to see what they new artists come up with in all genres. Great Reaction guys.

I tend to agree with you both it was a great song. There were country elements at the beginning of the song. I'm not altogether sure I'd call it country. Still a great song.

It's basically southern rock. Which is a subgenre of country. Which makes it country.
