Basically, Matt Hardy was TNA world champ earlier this year but lost it to Drew Galloway because of his brother Jeff. They then had an I Quit match which ended as a no contest due to a double KO with Matt being taken to hospital. He then was off TV for a few months and returned in May as an imposter Willow before unmasking with this weird white streak in his hair (like Rouge from X-Men) and it turned out he'd become completely insane and he is now 'Broken' Matt Hardy, speaks in this extremely strange accent and he calls Jeff 'Brother Nero' and wants to 'delete' him as revenge for costing him the title.

Priding yourself on not watching a full episode of TNA is such a snobbish thing to say. Hell, I've probably only watched a handful of episodes over the years but I wouldn't say that's something for a wrestling fan to be proud of. I constantly hear bad news about TNA seemingly every other month which has put me off from watching, yet I look at the NXT roster now- Joe, Roode, Aries, EY- and realise that they must have done something right. "Matt's been talking like Bray Wyatt" really? Whether you like it or not, the Final Deletion achieved its purpose- it brought attention to TNA. It was absolutely ridiculous, NOT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY, but I enjoyed it and I'll check out Destination X next week too

It may have been insane, but it's DIFFERENT... and different is exactly what the business of Professional Wrestling needs right now. We have been seeing the same format for decades. It's a breath of fresh air to see something like this. Was it well done? No, not really. Was Matt over the top? Absolutely. But for the first time in a long time we are geting something different, new, fresh. I've been a fan of Matt's since he left the WWE (wasn't big on him during his WWE run) and think he has taken himself in new and creative directions and done some of the best work of his career. Jeff seems to have reinvigorated his career by turning his life around. These guys are having fun and people ARE watching. This is good for the business and it's good for the fans. I'd like to see more storylines play out like this one (meaning how they are presented, etc.) It's fun to poke fun at them but the are being innovators and trying to expand the business and move it on from the cookie cutter presentation we've all gotten used to since time immemorial i.e. Entrance (complete with pyro, name graphic and "coming to the ring from blah blah blah weighing blah blah blah" and music, the same match, blase commentary, some silly finish - cue winners music. all done in the same style, presented in the same way, week after week across every promotion. L.U. has done a good job changing the format (though they still adhere to the basics) but this storyline and the way in which it has been presented has transcended the business and, despite how silly it is, is a needed step forward for the too stagnant pro wrestling.
@jowoman77998 жыл бұрын
I didn't find this fun or anything special. It wa just cringe worthy. Matt was ridiculous. Jeff idk even about him. I guess he's fine....I guess. It might be new but something I didn't like. Your WWE markiness is showing, gents. Just admit you hate TNA. Bragging about never seeing a complete episode and being proud of it is completely idiotic. All you could have said was, "Hey, haven't seen this in years. Fill me in on the details." Makes it sound like you're actually interested rather than irritated. You guys didn't give it a chance... you hated it before it even started. Like, what? How can I validate your opinion after an intro like that? How about this... Don't talk about TNA. Why waste your time with it if you're never going to care for it? Life is too short. I haven't watched TNA in years, and I thought Final Deletion was a FUN match. Kudos to TNA, and the Hardy Boys.

Adam prefaces that they're not in character. He tells us that their version of "kayfabe" is on hold, allowing them to watch Final Deletion together. But it's obvious that they had their minds made up and it was going to take an arm and a leg for TNA to change their opinions. How is that fair? Please, don't tell me you're going to be unbiased, when that's the furthest thing from the truth. And really, why even watch something when you know you're going to hate it? What's the point? So you can act "cool" by talking about how much of a failure you think it is? I'm just saying, the best critics can at least find one little redeeming quality in something they ultimately despise. They sound like complete jerks here. Which might not be too wise if they want to continue networking with other promotions and wrestlers.

I watched that 4th of July episode of Raw and jesus christ (!) if TNA did a show HALF as bad as that 2 hour stinker Adam Blampied and his lackies would eat them alive in their reviews. TNA is daring to be different and is pushing the boat out more. Of course its not always going to be a success but Impact is a far more entertaining show week in week out than Raw which is predictable and bland. Bruh. You're saying this after a backyard wrestling match with Matt Hardy using a Jamaican/European accent, summoning Jeff with a violin, fighting in a candlelit area with camera cuts every second, music going over the entire match, switching to a comedic thing halfway through, Jeff's other persona fighting halfway through, and the match ending with Jeff falling off a pole. Wow, real quality content right there. Anybody who says TNA is not rubbish is kidding themselves.

And I garantee you TNA's competition from ROH, AAA, New Japan, Lucha Underground and yes even WWE took notes of what they saw last night. Congratulations TNA ..... You made history!

The greatest night in the history of wrestling? If u really think that then u should stop watching wrestling js
@BigK133728 жыл бұрын
These are notes taken by the companies: 1. Don't use The Room as a stylistic choice 2. Poe's Law is a hell of a drug 3. Who the hell will actually fire fireworks at somebody in real life (seriously, there's a reason nobody use fireballs anymore) 4. TNA is like WCW, except it can't die. 5. Forget the fireworks, who the hell taze a guy in the water. Let's forget the kayfabe insanity of Matt here, they're seriously doing shit that will for real kill them. 6. And yet none of them bleed in this match. Seriously. For a so called fight to the death, I amazed none of them bleed like Terry and Mick in Japan. 7. LU probably can do this storyline better; that is if this was meant to be taken seriously (Poe's Law is a bitch).

This reaction shows people often reject a concept that is new or foreign because now broken matt gimmick is remembered fondly and the final deletion is not only known as the match that started cinematic wrestling but still stands as one of the greatest cinematic matches ever done

I absolutely loved it from beginning to end. Señor Benjamin is brilliant, the music under the match instead of stupid commentary is a breath of fresh air and the consistency of the match is solid. The psychology is great, Matts banter during the match was amazing ("Brother Nero got flushed", him saying weird stuff when running to that boat to hide, his entire messed up accent) and the fact they know it's campy and play with that is just amazing. The WWE locker room sure are aware of this program, with Sasha calling Bayley Sister Nero on twitter and Jericho outright complimenting the feud on twitter. It's getting people talking and Adam (and myself) looked for and watched a TNA bit for the first time in for ever. It's very succesful, for that I would even consider calling Broken Matt the wrestler of the year thus far.
@foaly57 жыл бұрын
I don't understand how you can watch the final deletion and not crack up. That and it's originality are the two takeaways from it. I can't believe these guys nitpicking the editing for being amateurish, when the amateur look and feel is all part of the charm of the angle. Missing the point completely springs to mind. WWE has been so stale for years and TNA has been poor, so when something completely crazy and comedic like this comes out, of course it will get a great reaction.
@MrWrestling868 жыл бұрын
I'm in the middle about the #FinalDeletion. I've seen reactions ranging from "OMG THIS WAS THE GREATEST THING EVER!" to "WTF was that utter shit?" And the thing is, both reactions make complete sense to me. For my part i`ll say the hype, with all the reaction videos and such, built up an expectation too hard to meet. But it's also not one of those moments that make me embarrassed to be a fan either. I enjoyed it for what it was- campy fun. Something I may re-view in the future on a rainy day for a bit of entertainment, but also not something I view as particularly groundbreaking or a seminal moment in the history of pro wrestling. I do applaud the Hardys and TNA for trying something different and thinking, if I may use an annoying and overused cliche, "outside the box." And if it brings more eyes to TNA and helps strengthen their (unfortunately damaged) brand then really it's good for the pro wrestling industry as a whole.
@MrWrestling868 жыл бұрын
P.S. I've heard many people call this cringeworthy. Well, if you watched the entire episode of Impact then you'll know the title of "Most Cringeworthy" belongs to neither Hardy brother. That honor goes to Maria Kanellis and her repetition of "YOU OR ME!" during her promo faceoff with Dixie Carter. Jesus tapdancing Christ- that was fucking brutal. The very definition of someone trying waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too hard.

I like how on the Internet everyone conveniently forgets that the human being has the ability to change its opinion on something after watching multiple times. Everyone loves to cry that they're hypocrites because they didn't like the gimmick at first, yet fail to remember that three quarters of the wrestling fanbase had the exact same opinion until Broken Brilliance just kinda grew on everyone.

@MrPie8 жыл бұрын
Okay. Is this entertaining? Yes. Maybe even fun. But for those who think this is the greatest thing TNA has ever done and will put them back on the map, you can't be serious. "But this angle is getting attention!" The Masters of the Powerbomb (with Sid in flip flops) gave the WCW some attention. David Arquette gave the WCW some attention. And Billy and Chuck's wedding gave the WWE some attention. Just because an angle brings attention to a promotion, doesn't mean the angle is genius or clever. "But this is more exciting than anything the WWE has done in years!" I just watched Botchamania's video of Vince Russo's horrendous pinata-on-a-pole match, with the ill-fated debut of Oklahoma. The fans were into that match, too, as it was during the Monday Night Wars. So was that angle exciting? Sure. But was it good? Not at all. So if this is TNA's way of staying relevant, and they now want to push comedic angles, that's disrespectful to the profession. And didn't Drew McIntyre preach old-school wrestling, when he started in TNA? This angle just slaps old-fashioned wrestling in the face. And I'm not defending the WWE here. But at least they have wrestling (except for Katie Vick and other horrendous angles). As an MFA candidate in creative writing, I can say this is fun but still sucks and does not deserve to be a watershed moment in professional wrestling history.
