@@KRXOVRmedia Hmmmm, that's tough. Maybe you can talk about some of the OGs in the game, like their evolution from then till now

Great vid abosutely agree UK rap albums need to be more concise and like stories jay once said a album is like a book must have begging problem point of tension or something crazy happends the the solution of this etc brilliant vid keep it coming

Thank you!! It's funny you mention that Jay-Z quote because I saw it a few weeks ago while scripting this video. I think I have it in my notes for a future video on this topic. What did you like the most about this video and what would you like to see in the future?

semi-related question but do you ever hear a song and think "this sounds like a track 3" or "this sounds like it'd come second to last in an album"? I commonly have these thoughts just off the sound alone
@KRXOVRmedia2 ай бұрын
100000%!! I say this all the time. It's one of my MOST common critiques when I do album reactions. I actually end up rearranging the tracklists myself and never listen to it in the original order. What are some albums that you've felt this way about?
@34spiral2 ай бұрын
@@KRXOVRmedia there aren’t specific albums I feel this way about, but growing up (like from 13-18) I used to make these album-style playlists that’d be 10-12 tracks and feature songs from multiple artists, across multiple genres, but there would still be some sense of cohesion in the vibes of each track, but of course lyrically they wouldn’t always make sense. that would matter more if its from a single artist. the playlists would be a kind of emotional trip using different artists to paint the picture, and have a clear (clear to me at least) progression and intro/outro I did make a “my perfect giggs album” playlist once but these were lost when I switched music platforms. I like concise but impactful albums, for example Hoodies All Summer by Kano or if we’re talking non-rap, SITHOL by Yves Tumor (one of my fav albums ever even tho i dislike track 3) or Chelsea Wolfe’s latest album She Reaches Out To She. and Bashy’s new album is around 10 songs and was great from what I remember (i do need a relisten) but I think 10-12 tracks is the perfect album length as it leaves not too much space to go wrong if you’re a good artist, but more than enough space to go right and be creative. anyway sorry for the long response which may not have been an answer to your original question

No need to apologize. I ask questions to encourage conversation. I definitely understand what you're saying. My whole spotify is legit full of this. I plan on making as many videos as I realistically about them. I have a whole series of playlists for introducing people to UK rappers, but I arrange the songs to flow like albums. I also agree that sometimes less can be more. My experience with those "shorter" albums tends to be more favorable, too.

You definitely don't need a master's degree to make an album
