I was 18 and had moved to San Francisco for school. I remember the Hare Krishnas at the airport and on the streets. I did think they were very strange and a cult, probably, because who could be that happy? Fast forward to 20 years later - I attended a Rainbow Family event and the Hare Krishna fed me. I felt so happy with the chants. Soon after, I was led to a Raja Yoga Center in my community and the rest is history. Over 20 years under my belt following the yogic philosophy. Prabhupada was doing the will of Krishna, and I am so grateful for his work. Om Krishna.

As a young mother, surviving, my husband was steeped in Sanskrit and Buddhism and I had studied the Mahabharata and taught my fellow students, on site, the magic carvings and sculptures in K.ovalum,, madras. So we wanted to discover for ourselves. While watching the film (great thanks), I reached into my chair side basket, and pulled out Bhagavad-Gita as it is!!? Sent to me by a dear friend, last year. I started college in 1967. I got to see many of the celebrities of the day: Leary, Spock, Devlin, Ginsburg etc in my native state of Rhode Island. My friend and I took a bus to NYC to see who this guy Srila Prabhupad was. I went to a lecture and was very interested in what he had to say. I was only there for a day as I was a poor student. When I got some extra money I subscribed to Back to Godhead magazine. I wanted to be more involved but I was on a sport scholarship. I think of him often.

Watching this made me wish I was born fifteen years earlier so I could have lived in the better days of ISKCON.
