Personally I’m not much of an MG fan. Being essentially a Chinese product, like you said few quality issues are expected. Also, footboard is not advisable for a Crossover, as they are already low, so will scrape the bumps on the road. Footboards are standard in body on frame type vehicles as the height is more and so difficult to climb in otherwise. Two good choices for you, will be the TATA Gravitas (Harrier based 7 seat SUV) and Kia Carnival. Both are good cars.

Tell me your definition of a crossover. A crossover is a sedan on stilettos. Meaning a tall car. (A crossover between a wagon and a car - or a tall wagon on car suspension) It’s not even an SUV. They just call it an SUV due to the wagon like shape. A True SUV is something which is body on frame, basically a truck, which is used more for off-road purpose. Whether manufactured in China or not, MG is owned by Chinese company SIAC, which is its parent company. Also, what I said was entirely my opinion. Not compelling you to believe it or agree to it.
