The lyrics are kinda sad to be honest. Pretty much someone met her/his love interest and wanted to get to know them deeply, but he/she had to leave the town, and there's nothing to stop them. The "someone" enjoyed his/her company but knowing that they had to leave, "someone" told them that "someone" will be waiting here, if he/she ever came back. When the time comes for he/she leaving the town, "someone" cries, hence the lyric "Awaiting your return while I soak my sleeve" and wondering if they ever saw the beautiful sun rise, illuminating the trees and snow. But that's what i think of the lyric. It's sad and touching, a reminder to cherish someone you love while they're still here.

Honestly very few American songs can give off such an emotional feel these days, music has fallen in america to where it is heavily dominated by subpar rap and hip hop that have little to no feeling left in it, paired with the remnants of country which make up basically the same song sung differently by each musician but with the same boring fundamental lack of emotion and sincerity. I think in my opinion it is the strong culture that helps to cultivate such vibrant talent such as this that gives other countries a stronger stance in the music world with songs that have more meaning and love in their creation.
