Slept like a baby...........One of my best sleeps was in a 1 man tent, on the ground, and a massive Thunderstorm. I could feel the ground tremble every time it thundered. The temperature was perfect with a cool breeze blowing through the tent. Good memory.

I love love love that set up - I love listening to the rain I have the windows open as soon as it rains or the doors - it’s so cosy to be dry and safe and still smell and hear the rain at the same time the fact that it’s a hammock at the same time perfect light weight and ingenious

There are trees, pretty easy to set up a line between the trees for his food bag and put it out of reach of bears and smaller animals. Or just use a bear canister (which people usually avoid carrying when backpacking).

Many hammock straps come with drip guards (not sure in this case, but I sure hope so). They can be made easily by tieing a short piece of rope 2ish feet above where the strap connects to the hammock and letting them hang down a couple inches.

pretty smart set up… gotta remind folks, though… if it’s not raining, cook we’ll away from ur tent and clean up the dishes, pots, food immediately. A bear can smell that chicken or whatever sizzling from a mile away probably… Smells like that stick out and carry in the forest. Have bear spray. You are in their backyard, having a BBQ… trouble’s coming if you don’t recognize the simple facts. Enjoy, but be cautious and prepared.

Can’t see the struggle. It’s actually way easier in the rain, because you put up the tarp first and the tent underneath doesn’t get soaked while pitching it. Looks great, dry and comfy.

We used to love to camp in the rain! Follow the marked trees on a hidden trail, straight up the mountain in the Adirondacks, Catskill mountains. Make fire from felled white Birch Trees, smells gorgeous. Get under the waterfall and trip. Absolutely beautiful ❤️
