I cool tip, I tried and now do this with my 1ZPRESSO Grinder and a Bosch GO 2, it looks more sleek and works fine. :-)

Use a Allen key Adapter for that. (I dont know exactly how its called, live in Germany). The way you use it, you going to damage it.

Haha thanks for the tip

Hey could you elaborate why? I've been using it directly (although carefully) but want to prevent any issues. Thanks! edit: Nvm, I see what you meant. I use an Allen key adapter as well but misunderstood your comment. My bad!

im so glad im not the only one. i was thinking this is a way more utilitarian use of my money than buying a fancy automatic grinder. i dont have a grinder and i dont have a drill, so why not get the extra bang for buck while saving counter space?

Everything in this video is wrong. Terrible music (and unecessary), the camera is too close to the content, the camera guy never heard about focus, doesn't show the coffee being ground or how it was in the end...

slow that thing tf down. have to grind slower. skerton can melt for one thing if you treat it like that, and grind wont be as good.

I know right! Need to slow down. As mentioned this was our first time testing this out. One of the things we noticed, but the content didn’t make the cut on the video edit was that the speed would make the burr kind of wobble. That part that was edited out but adds to your input that the speed can lower the grind quality
@JohnnyG19564 жыл бұрын
@@goodcoffeevibes9360 Slow would be better... I would add a bit to the drill that would fit the grinder handle attachment, something along these lines. www.amazon.com/uxcell-Socket-Spanner-Setter-Driver/dp/B00A10ILAK With this setup, it would make adding beans or repeated use, super easy.
@goodcoffeevibes93604 жыл бұрын
Funny my Dad actually said the same thing today about using a bit today haha! Thanks! Yeah that was our first time doing it. Maybe we will do an updated feed back video

@@goodcoffeevibes9360 if you do that, tip from andrew at flair, can use a mechanical screwdriver instead of a regular drill, if you find the right one they are more gentle, and for most more ergonomic for use in a coffee context. and, on amazon the black and decker (cheap stuff) starts at $17.50, though i'd recommend skil . im using the junoesque ace40, which is about your cheapest thing you can use for espresso, and it comes with a drill bit

Ok I just did this, but on low and slow setting so I don't brake the grinder. I watched this to see if it would brake the grinder. I feel like ceramic would brake somehow. I'm not with about the shaft since hario pro is well supported on the shaft.. Though, the support is plastic so it would probably brake..

Ryobi drills are clunky asf. I recommend a Milwaukee M12 drill which is much lighter weight and has plenty of torque. Set the drill speed to 1, set clutch position to 3, attach a 1/4” hex shank socket driver, and a 7mm socket to drive the burr shaft.

Ha ha. I thought about doing also. Good job. My current low end Ascaso commercial grinder has a stripped nylon gear that drives the burr spindle. A small screw somehow got in grinder and froze it thus stipping gear. Maybe I could modify a VSR drill core to make a direct drive? or just wait for the new nylon gear to arrive.

Like someone else said very pretentious. You need to humble yourself.

I tried it with my drill but it kinda struggles. If ı crank up the power all the way it does turn but it's way too fast. If ı try to turn is slowly it just does not have enough power to crack the beans. How much power does your drill have? I also have the skerton pro model btw
@michaelwaller60933 жыл бұрын
If you’re too lazy to turn the handle, just buy an electric burr grinder or a better hand grinder.

Why buy a manual grinder if you are going to connect a drill to it?

because we already bought one and dont have the money for an automatic. And we all have drills--thats why. AND THATS WHY YOURE HERE TOO!

Okay, good idea for speeding up the grind without killing your arms. But the drill motor is overkill. Sure, the first obvious choice since it has an adjustable chuck, but calipers (or a bit of trial and error) will quickly show you that the hex head of the drive shaft on the Hario Skerton Pro is 7mm. So grab a 7mm nut driver and your lighter impact driver, Bob's your uncle! Or if you have a well made cordless screwdriver, that accepts 1/4 inch (shaft) nut drivers, then you have the simple solution that should work well but also fit in a kitchen drawer when not in use.

I wouldn't recommend this, I did this and bent the shaft in the grinder and lost all chance for a constant grind. It was a cheap grinder (java press off brand)
